OK what does everyone think? Am I over reacting? I could just kill my Mother in law!!!!! Lets just say she's a MOTHER (get my drift) Here is an email she sent today:
Hi!

We have been trying for the past coupe of days to get you. Your phone just keeps ringing. We wanted to let you know that your Uncle Jack Linn has passed away. Visitation is at Jefferson Memorial on Friday Aug 31 6:00pm to 9:00pm. The funeral will be at the same place Saturday Sept 1 at 10:00 am. We had no idea how else to let you know and didn’t want to be accused of not keeping you up to date on the family.

Love ya! God Bless!

Dad & Mom

Now the bold lines are what set me off!! The kids were home Tuesday because we worked. The phone did not ring and NO one called Wednesday. But the last line! What an A@#.
So of course I had to respond times 2
NO ONE HAS CALLED OUR NUMBER! WE have caller ID YOUR NAME IS NOT ON IT!
didn’t want to be accused of not keeping you up to date on the family.
This statement is totally unneccessary and uncalled for NO ONE HAS EVER ACCUSED YOU OF THAT! You HAVE NOT called our number in fact WE have been HOME!!!!! We have caller ID and an answering machine!

Here is her response that I have not responded to YET!
Hi!

We didn’t say that anyone accused us of not keeping them up to date on family matters. We don’t want anybody to have the opportunity to do so.

We called twice on Tuesday and your phone rang about 6 or 7 times without an answer. You wouldn’t have out cell phone numbers on caller ID.

Love ya! God Bless!

Would it be wrong to tell her to take her love and God bless and put it where the:sunny: doesnt shine? ! :teeth:

Can you tell we dont get along? :crazy2:

I'm sorry Vicky :sad2:
She sounds a little....overbearing.....kinda like Ray's Ma from Everybody Loves Raymond? :rotfl:

Sometimes with people like that you just have to fake a big shiny smile and go "ok" while you are imagining punching their lights out. Which makes you smile bigger. Not that I have any experience with this or anything :rolleyes1

Good luck. Take your walk tonight and picture each step stomping on her head :rotfl2: :thumbsup2

:lmao: :rotfl: I can do that!!! She is VERY overbearing!!!!:badpc: but foot steps!!!!

We actually did our walk twice today!! After we dropped Amanda off we did our laps and when we were waiting to pick her up we did 4 more!
Tomorrow Amanda and I will walk to school and then I will do my laps and then walk to pick her up! So almost 2 walks tomorrow!!

What is the cost, name and identifying information for that camera!?!?!?!
Sounds like something I would like!

I tried to post this last night, but the DISboards seem to have trouble after midnight. It's a bit long, I'm sorry!

LOL :lmao:

It's the Canon PowerShot A630. It's 8 megapixels--really a huge leap from my current 3 megapixel camera!--and it's got a 4x optical zoom--which is somewhat better than my current 3x optical zoom. It gets wonderful reviews on every site I've looked at--it really only has one complaint that I can find, and that's that it isn't the best camera for low light. I found one website that said it didn't have image stabilization (a big deal if you have shaky hands) but I haven't read complaints about that. It's supposed to be the nicest Canon you can get without moving into the more professional SLR series. With this camera, you can manually adjust some things which I don't know about but apparently more experienced photographers do, such as apertures, but you don't have to know about this stuff--you can just point and shoot if you want to. It's NOT a slim camera, but it fits in my camera bag with no problem so it isn't much bigger than my current camera. (I wish I could have seen the look on the CompUsa associates' faces when I tried to slip the demo model into my bag. ;) ) It uses SD cards, which are cheap and easy to find compared to other types of memory. (I got two 2GB SD cards at CompUsa on sale for $20 each, compared to the 1GB XD card I paid $20 for.) It also runs on AA batteries, so finding replacement batteries in an emergency is possible. Did I mention that this camera still has a viewfinder in case you don't want to use the screen, something that a lot of digital cameras have done away with? Considering that the screen drains the batteries, and I've seen a lot of reviews complaining that it's difficult to see some screens in bright light, I'm surprised that so few cameras have viewfinders.

If you're seriously interested, CircuitCity.com has them on sale right now. They're normally $229, but right now they have them for $203.99. I would really like to buy from CompUsa because I was very disappointed in my most recent digital camera experience with Circuit City. I went into Circuit City trying to find out why my current camera wouldn't read a 1GB memory card. I asked three salespeople who didn't know anything about cameras, before they sent an associate who worked in the department. He didn't know anything either, and was generally friendly but very unhelpful. We walked out of the store and into CompUsa next door, and their associate not only greeted us within a couple of minutes of walking in, he also knew about the products, answered all of our questions, determined what we were looking for and made quite a few suggestions. He *really* earned that sale, which is why I feel guilty if I don't buy from them.

Anyway, I'm sorry I went on so long! :sad2: But I hope that I gave you all the information you were looking for. Also, if you're interested, the A630 has a bigger brother with 10 megapixels for $299, the PowerShot A640.

Dawn I have a Canon A 520 and I LOVE IT!!!!!! The first digital we had was also a Canon!!!! My husband has a Canon S2IS and he likes it!!!!!!! I like Canon Cameras!!!! I think they said the same thing about mine too in low light! I havent had a problem!

Hi gang! Good to see our thread buzzing again! I can't wait to see all the new haircut pictures. Patsy, yours is adorable (as always)! I am letting mine grow. It's the first time that I can remember not having bangs. I am not sure if I like it, but I am trying....

Do you remember if it was a Canon? I have seen Canon cameras that had the screen that swiveled out away from the camera. I thought they looked cool. I always used to prop my camera on something and run in front of it to use the timer. :rotfl: I am not photogenic though, I avoid the camera at all cost! :scared:  :headache: :rolleyes1

Yup, it was a Canon! I usually don't like to have my photo taken either, but I've been going through my old photos recently, and I only had about half a dozen photos of myself in the last year...and I take something like two or three thousand digital photos in a year. Thems pretty bad odds. Add to that the fact that I bought a new bodice at the Renaissance Festival this year, and it took me a MONTH to find someone willing to take a picture of it...and then it was my 8 yo, and I had to BEG her to take it. I have an image in my head of my grandkids having no idea what I look like because there are no photos. :sad2:

CompUsa has no cameras again today...I'm getting very irritated!

:rotfl2: Poor Vicki! Whenever my MIL acts like that...and thank goodness she doesn't do it all the time!...I just smile and grit my teeth. There isn't a lot I can do about it otherwise! It doesn't sound like your MIL is willing to accept that she might have dialed a wrong number, or even that cell phones sometimes DIAL THE WRONG NUMBER even though you typed in the right one. I know I've had that happen repeatedly!

That's great to hear! I'm really excited about this camera, it's gotten great reviews.

What about online?

It's only available for pickup, and the closest store that has one in stock is in Denver, 60 miles away. They'll send me an e-mail when it's back in stock...but I WANT my new camera! :headache:

That's a shame! When they get it back in stock do you get it at the sale price?

So true! I've called my brother before and my phone will say "Connected: Gregger" but it'll be my dad! :headache:
