How awful. I would have cried too. How sad! That pain is so horrible. Just thinking about it brings tears to my eyes.

They were a nice young couple!

I always feel terrible when I cry. I think "What are they(patient family) going to think-Here's my nurse crying.

It is tough and I dont want to say you get use to it but only 3 cardiac arrests have ever bothered me: my first one, one was an older man going to the post office to mail his bills-when I saw the gas bill I started to cry and the 3rd was a young girl whos mother was a nurse upstairs and her sister now works with us-had a very bad asthma attack and ended up going into arrest. I cried that night. I cried with the supervisor and the family! I general try to stay away from the family because when they start to cry so do I. But that night I ended up taking care of the family and relaying info to them and whne the Dr came in to tell them everyone lost it including the DR. I know for a fact it bothered him to have to call it!
It' rough sometimes:guilty:

so what wing are you in? Cardiac? or maybe ER? I've never asked.

ER! I use to work on the floor at a different hospital-We got one-day post op open heart patients. Those patients were great but the staff was horrible. I now work in the ER and although I dont like to go to work- I would never work anywhere else. You can have 3 patients with chest pain and its not the same. Its intense and crazy one minute and the next your looking for something to do.

Er is also kind of the black sheep. No one likes us and we are usually left on our own-No supervisor or higher ups come to see the ER. We are the outcasts! Sometimes that's a good thing! :teeth:

Awww.. Thats why I couldn't do nursing or anything like that. It would drive me crazy! I'd be sad all the time.

Mom had cancer when I was little so I got really accustomed to hospitals but I still feel really nervous when I'm in them and then I see people cry and I start to cry, too..

But there are good things too! It's not for everyone. ;)

Haha, no problem..

I'm a big baby, really.

I see commercials on TV and I'll start crying. Lauren and I had a movie-fest in Florida and that Chase commercial came on where the people age and they've got the Disney CC and then they get the AARP one and we were both getting a bit teary..

Big baby, right here :-D

I totally agree about reapplying! I encourage my boys to keep their T shirts on whenever possible. They burn quickly.

I can't decide on the SeaSafe either. :confused3
Did anyone post that swimming in a white t-shirt is like swimming with no t-shirt? When it is wet the sunburning can happen right through the shirt.
We snorkel in black t-shirt.
