Disney Wonder Mexico Oct 9 2011

I don't understand why I didn't get notified that there were updates. But I hope it isn't too late to sign up for the FE. I had put our info but that was a looooong time ago so I'll do it again.

It is going to be me (Kelly, 30) and my dh (Matt 29). Neither of us has ever been on a cruise before so we're pretty excited. Even more so because it is our honeymoon. Yay!! I can hardly wait. We're in room 6080 and we booked the Tequila Making in Puerto Vallarta (which my parents said is awesome) and the Coastal Highlights in Cabo.

We got our cruise docs in the mail today!! Definitely getting closer!

Yeah! I can't wait to get ours. I've been Checking the mail with anticipation for the past week. Counting down the days :cool1:

Just a reminder to all that I'll take names for the FE list through Friday, 9/9. So anyone else who is considering it, get me your info by then.

Hello all. We set sail one month from today. :cool1:

Today is the FE cutoff date. My wife asked me to get a count of who all is in so far. She wants us to start working on gifts this weekend. I did a quick count and came up with this:

30 Adults
2 Teens
17 Children

This total includes every person listed in justhats list above. In other words, my wife and I and our two daughters are in that total. So you can substract out the members of your own cabin when trying to figure out who to buy for.

I realize the day is not over yet, and we may still pick up more for the FE exchange today. But I thought I would share where we are at now.

Have a great weekend.

:thumbsup2

PS I stumbled across this page the other day. It was from a previous Wonder cruiser and she took pictures of the food she ate on the trip. Click on this link if you want to see what will be on the menu in a month:

This will be our first Disney Cruise, so very excited!!! Unfortunately I did not find this location in time for the FE as I am not computer savy!!! Would love to know if any other families are coming with a teen. We have two sons but because our oldest started College, he is not able to join us, leaving us with our 15 year old teen. As he is somewhat shy, I am hoping he will be able to hook up with other teens. I did see that Jotoco had a 14 year old boy-yea!!! Any other's out there? I don't think he would be adverse to meeting a female either- ha ha.

You just made my day! I'm really worried because I didn't see any other kids his age. What's your son's name? I plan on giving my son the option on which club to hang out in since he's more into video games then hanging and talking to girls.

His name is Devyn and he just turned fifteen in July. I thought there was only the Aloft for teens? He too, is into video games (not so much girls) but he was excited when he heard there might be gender wars (challenges) as one of the activities. What is your son's name? PS: You made my day too!

I didn't know about ALOFT until you mentioned it...looks pretty fun:

ALOFT:
Disney Imagineers have designed Aloft as a dorm room and loft apartment all rolled into one, with healthy dashes of a coffee house and a university student center thrown in for good measure. An eclectic collection of comfy couches, mismatched chairs, beanbags and futons enables the teen "residents" to configure any seating arrangement they want.

Also available for teens group:

EDGE: (for tweens 11-13)
Edge, a tween-exclusive space located midship on Deck 2 aboard the Disney Wonder, is a hip hotspot where kids ages 11 through 13 can watch television, listen to music, play videogames, participate in various activities and make new friends.

QUARTER MASTERS: Quarter Masters, an arcade located on Deck 9, Midship on the Disney Magic and the Disney Wonder next to Quiet Cove Pool, is a cozy spot featuring the latest videogames hits—and thrilling air hockey—where Guests of all ages can get their game on while onboard

VIBE: Vibe lounge, a teens-exclusive activity center located exclusively on Deck 11, Midship, of the Disney Wonder, is a hip hangout where teens ages 14 to 17 can make new friends, watch television, play videogames, listen to music, surf the Internet and enjoy a variety of social activities throughout the day.

Sounds like they'll have plenty to do! My son's name is Matt.

I was on the Disney website today and several excursions are now fully booked up. I saw Sportfishing is booked, one of the snorkeling excursions and a couple of others. We signed our kids up for a Dolphin swim today, and two of the three times were booked on that one. If you are thinking about an excursion and have not yet booked it, you might want to do that quickly.

23 days away.......................................!!!!!!!!

Ugh, I am so torn on the excursions. We booked ours at the 100 day mark, but now I am really, really 2nd guessing our plan. Right now on one of the Cabo days we have my husband and oldest booked for the dolphin swim, my son and I on the dolphin encounter, which leaves the little on in the Reef. Ugh!!! I so don't know if I can leave her while we all go out. Now, don't get me wrong, we have 2 other family excursions planned, so it isn't so much that, as she'll get to do stuff too, but it's that she started preschool last month and it took her a few weeks to adjust (meaning actually be happy and not crying when I drop her off), and I took her to the gym daycare earlier this week and while my son said she didn't cry while I was gone, she went hysterical when I picked her up. And her brother was with her the whole time!

I know she was NOT a Flounder's fan on our cruise in June, and I doubt she'd remember any of the staff who is still in there from June. But then I think, if I don't leave her, then effectively my older daughter misses out. My son isn't a really strong swimmer so he's not comfortable with the idea of the swim, so my husband and daughter would have to switch to the encounter, and my kids have already done that in Nassau so my daughter isn't thrilled about it.

Then there's my husband, who really wants to do the swim and has no reservations about leaving the baby. In fact, he'd probably do every excursion without her if I agreed to it because she's a lot of work.

Sigh. I know, if my problems in life are what excursion to choose I am lucky, but geez, trying to balance the needs of 5 people can be crazy!

In other news, my girls and I went to Michael's yesterday and picked up all of our supplies for our FE gifts! Can't wait to start working on them this weekend!

If your son was with his father and sister, wearing a life jacket, wouldn't he feel confident? That's a shame if you have to have one or the other miss out on something.

To be honest, I think it's more the dolphin swimming with him that he's afraid of, but he is using the swimming as his excuse. He was afraid to touch the dolphin last time, but I keep reminding him that he was 3yo, now he's 5yo. He still did it at 3, and wanted to, but was afraid.

ETA: He's on pre-team for his sister's swim team. So he really has no basis for his concern, not like he can't swim. He's just a chicken like his mommy! ;) He has no problem hanging with me and his baby sister while my husband and oldest do all the thrill rides.

Aloha! We recently booked this cruise - backing out of Panama Canal in December (partial transit) for this one. We would love to participate in whatever is possible at this point in time. I realize the end date was 9/9, any consideration would be appreciated.

It's fine with me, so if everyone else is in agreement I'll add you in. I bought extra stuff just in case, so I'm covered.
