Disney Wonder March 20th 2011 sailing

I was planning to sleep in today because it's a snow day, but I looked on my phone at emails and saw the post about online check-in and picking times. I jumped out of bed so I could get an early check-in time.

Now I just have to decide when EyeLuvMickey, who is in Alaska, will be awake to text her to do it before she goes on her business trip this morning. PAM WAKE UP!!!

If we booked flghts to LAX through Disney, when can we expect to get the fight details?

Yes, it's new. People are guessing that it's because the first two MR cruises were rather crazy for check-in. :confused3

From what I gathered, it's for Florida too. Maybe the Dream check-in has been crazy too since there are so many more passengers.

Just wanted to give everyone a head's up--even if you already completed your online check-in it has changed. You now have to pick a time to check in at the port, among other things (like give your ok to be responsible for the Wave phones, etc).

So go to your reservation, go to my online check in, then click on view/edit. This will bring up a series of steps you have to click through to complete your online check in.

Just in case some of you plan to get to the port early, the earliest check-in time you can get is 10:30, which is available right now, but I don't know how long it will be if people start checking in.

Thank you so much!! If you didn't post it probably would have been awhile before I figured it out.

I actually like this check in process better.

That makes sense.

I wonder how strict they are about the times you sign up for. Sometime shuttle run late and peoples flights may get in late. I plan on trying to get 10:30 if it's still available or maybe 11:00.

I picked 10:30. I wonder if the time "fills up" and they don't have it available anymore or if it's just to give them an idea of staffing needs. We'll have to check and see.

I was able to get the 10:30-11:00 time, but the other families in my group have not been able to access this part of the process. Maybe so many people are doing this that the site is overwhelmed.

I guess I'm in the minority. I chose 11:30-12:00. I wanted to miss the mad rush at port, plus I don't want to have to wait over an hour in the waiting area with my 2 year old . Also I figured I'd let the teens sleep in a bit before driving to port ;).

Thank you, Thank you for the heads up.:yay:

I picked 11:30 to 12 too. I don't like getting there too early before the stateroom is ready. But, I can see why people like to get there early. They want to try and upgrade their stateroom.

Are the food areas even open that early? Then I wonder what if it's too cold to swim. What is my DD going to do.

For first timers, you do not have to check your kids into the youth program before boarding the ship. You can do it on the ship.

Yes, the food areas are open as soon as boarding begins.
I know it's cold where you are right now, but it's currently running 65-70 in LA and will likely be 70 or so in March. Just a couple of weeks ago they had weather in the 80s at Disneyland.

Oh, and also, boarding doesn't begin at 10:30 I don't believe, that's just port check-in time. Boarding begins at 11:45-12 according to the trip reports from the first MR cruise I just read.

The site says it is going through maintenance. I had no idea we had to pick a time - what if you just show up? Do they make you wait?

I have to somehow coordinate this with the other members of my family.

Thanks for letting us know - I appreciate it!

Yes, most areas are open once boarding and rooms are usually ready around 1:30pm. They won't actually start boarding until around 12-12:30 (and a little earlier if you are concierge or platinum castaway club).

I don't think this has been posted on our thread yet, but I just got an email from Disney regarding dining nights.

It looks like our Formal night is night 3 (instead of 2), Pirate night is 4 (Puerto Vallarta) and Semi-Formal is still night 6.

Well crap! I have Palo reserved for night 3!

Do the characters dress up for semiformal night? I can't remember.
If so then I'm good with missing formal night for Palo.

On the PC - they were dressed in thier formal wear on the semi-formal night. My favorite was the night of Minnie's Fiesta party and Minnie was dressed as a princess! :rotfl2: Couldn't figure that one out!
