Disney Wonder March 20th 2011 sailing

How do you get into the drawing?

You have to go to the spa tour at about 3 pm in the spa. They'll also have specials. I won a spa gift certificate on my March cruise! That was nice because DH and I did the whole spa villa experience which was absolutely DECADENT. Oh my! We were celebrating his 40th birthday, it was our kid-free cruise.

Cyndi, we usually do the Exotic Rasul each cruise as well. LOVE IT! It's a bargain, and we have always been allowed to use the rainforest room for a bit afterward as well.

Excursions- we are thinking of doing them on our own as well. Stone Island on our own for sure! We did it on our own, on our very first cruise in 07 (on Princess). It was one of the best port days we've ever had! Sooooo easy to do. Walk out of the port, go left when you get to the road. Walk about 10 minutes down to the water, go past the guard shack and there will be a boat ticket booth. Back then it was $1.50 pp/round trip, guess it's now $2.

It's a bit of a rickety little boat ride over, but it's very short. Just on the other side of where the ships dock.

When you disembark the little boat, walk up and over this hill, and this is what you see! Lots of little restaurants up and down the beach. Pick one and hang out!

Can't wait for this again! I need to remember to bring sand buckets etc for the kids so I can stay in a hammock...:cool1:

Other excursions- in Cabo, we plan to book a separate snorkeling excursion through Johan and Sandra. Both our cabins have snorkeled in Cabo previously so we are looking to try something a little different than a ship's excursion.

We are also thinking of booking Las Caletas separately in PV- has anyone ever done this? Las Caletas sounds like the best choice for our group, stuff to make the adults and kids happy. However, it's $95 pp for the 4 of us- yikes! Booking it privately is less, AND my DS 11 can pay a kids price instead of being an "adult" on Disney! I'm just a little curious how that would go doing it privately instead of through DCL since they sell the exact same excursion.

I almost forgot.... don't forget to bring water bottles. They are $35 for a case thru Disney, VS $3.79 at Wal-Mart!! Quite a difference....:scared1::scared1:

wow they charge that much for a case of bottle of water..it's okay for us to bring our own bottle of water? I thought bottle of water would be free on a cruise ship but i guess not...thanks for the info.:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:woohoo:

I posted our information on the bottom of the list...

Adding on.

Thank you for posting the Pics of Stone Island :thumbsup2.

You won't be able to book Las Caletas on your own :guilty:. I looked into this and tried to book it on their website about 3 months ago and it said it was sold out for the day so I sent them an email. If you look on their calendar everyday that has ships in port are sold out. They only do tours for cruise lines on those days and will not book to anyone from a cruise ship.

I really wanted to do this, but I think I'll wait for a future cruise when my little one is a little older and can appreciate it more.

I've seen some posts where people are getting a day pass for Krystal resort in PV. It looks really nice w/ pool facility and beach. close to port.
This could be a good alternative and probably less expensive than going to las Caletes.

Some posts are saying use of resort is free if you buy drinks and eat their food. And some say there is also a day pass you can buy that is all inclusive. If you are interested, email the resort and see what is included in a day pass.

Can you tell me what Exotic Rasul is? :confused3

I had found a snorkel tour that some people on cruise critic raved about, but looks like they don't have tours during March, UGH! Back to more research. Guess I may have to go through Johann and Sandra and pay more for their services.

We contemplated Lovers Beach. Anyone ever snorkel there?

Oh and to answer the question about when we plan to get to the port, 10:30 or 11:00. I like to be on the ship early and get some lunch and walk around the ship. Kids like to hit the pool (hopefully it's warm enough) I believe we hit the hot tub last time too. Plus I need to change our Palo reservations and evidently go do a 3pm tour of the spa so I can get in on the drawing.

Thanks for these Pictures! This is EXACTLY what we are planning to do in Mazatlan. Very interested in heading to the water taxi area with a group of fellow cruisers if this is being looked at by other DISerss.

Hi Everyone,

Glad to see the olders kids are getting to know each other via the fb group page. Makenna is so excited that there seems to be so many kids her age.

Here is what we have planned so far. This is our first cruise so I may be doing this all wrong but I sure am having fun;-)

Sunday & Monday-Exploring the ship, enjoying our first cruise! Very excited for formal night on Monday so hoping to get a hair appointment that day as soon as I board the ship.

Tuesday- Exotic Rasul in AM, followed by Brunch at Palo.
Wednesday-PV-Las Calletas Excursion through Disney
Thursday-Mazatlan-Stone Island (on our own)
Friday- Cabo-Maybe excursion to Lands End or Resort Day Pass, I have an "Alone Time" massage appointment @ 4:30 but we have to be aboard by 3:30 so it should work out okay.

We currently have 1st seating for dinner but I am actually going to switch to the 2nd seating so we can join our friends and see the shows earlier and then take full advatage of "dine & play" for the kids.

I was wondering what seating everyone chose. We chose 2nd seating. We have done both and we prefer 2nd seating. We like to take our time in the ports. How about everyone else?

We are at second seating because that was all that was left when we booked. Would have preferred first, but with 9 of us I'm guessing it would tough to change.

Do you all eat together or do your kids eat with the clubs? Elsa really only eats with us on formal night. And even then she is squirming because she feels like she is missing all the action.

At first I felt kinda bad that she didn't want to eat with us, but it's her vacation too. Oddly enough it's not just that she has fun at the club but she says she likes the food at the club better. I don't know why. I think it's just pizza and hotdogs and stuff like that.

We all eat together. My kids LOVE the dining rooms and the wait staff. It's something they are looking forward to.
