I think that the birthday get together sounds like a great idea.
If we knew the names and ages of the birtdhay kids, people that wanted to could buy or make cards for them.

first celebrations, ds will turn 9 on the 28th. since we are from TN we will most likely be flying that day, so if we could do a "party" for him during the cruise that would be nice. would you guys mind us cheating a little and joining in the festivities?

as for how to split, my thoughts are that it's only july, more people find out about this site, probably everyday, we have the potential of being HUGE but at the same time it could go the other way and be that most that are going to get on already are w/ the exception of a few tricklers in...lol! so i think we ought to make smaller groups w/ the expectation that we can/will add more along the way (w/ a cap so start @ 20 w/ no more than 25 or whatever) and then if we don't get any bigger people can have the option of being part of two groups or just staying smaller (does that make sense? like have an off shoot list if we had an a, b and c, make a d and they would buy for not only their original group but one additional one? is that way too confusing? lol!) anyway, i don't care how we do it. we could even just add in groups as people come in, if they join later they will just kind of be more up in the air, but that seems hard too... ?

i don't however like the idea of a cut off date for signups b/c i'd hate to leave anyone out of the fun, i'm guessing i'm not the only one w/ quite a few "random" things that i can give out to last minute signups...again just my $.02 and i'm not going to be hurt if no one likes it. :0)

I was thinking 25-30 per group, but maybe we should wait until we see exactly how many we have on the list so that it can be divided evenly. Should we set a deadline for sign ups?

Also my friend (eyeluvmickey) and I wanted to be on the same list so we could distribute our gifts together. How much of a pain is that going to be?

Not a problem to have you and your friends together. I will remember to keep all friends that have been mentioned so far in the same groups.......

I like the idea of starting with the two groups that you mentioned and adding others to a third group as they join. Makes the most sense I think. Also like the "Mickey, Goofy, Donald" names, keeping with the Disney themes. I don't know if I can wait until March....glad I have a Carnival cruise next month.

Bookite...... would you be in charge of our first gathering? Several people have mentioned that they would love to have a meet-up early on.... maybe our first evening aboard since everyone is excited and there's not too much going on. I'm thinking after the sail away party, and before main dining? What do you think? Maybe you could pick a location, and time. What do you think about a scavenger hunt for the kids and families who board early on.... and we could compare our lists/findings at the meet up? How about a big bucket of candy at the end for all who participate...just something fun....

we got together after the sail away on our last cruise and it was a great time for the kids to connect and my daughter hooked up with a buddy that she stuck with the entire cruise. It was GREAT!

Our group is pretty big, so what would be a good place? Trying to remember the name of the club where they had the wii tournaments . It would be a good place if it is empty at that time of day.

You're too funny! I'm sure you'll be fine. I'll help you out since I have cruised before....I just don't want to be in charge of anything else.... You just need to do some research...
Anyone want to help her who has cruised before? Since the Wonder and Magic are identical in layout, anyone who has cruised on either would be a great help! I've been on the Magic.

We lived in Whittier twice! Once in the 90's and again in 2004/2005. Then we moved to Glendora, and then San Diego.....

LOVE San Diego. Everyday is like vacation when you live down here.... The only way I'd move back up is if my DH got a job with Disney We have that agreement, so he's go this eyes and "ears" open.
