Disney Wonder March 20th 2011 sailing

Welcome Katie. There is a list, probably a few pages back. There are a ton of us and we will most likely split into two groups.

My DH and DGS (9) are going with me. This will be our first Disney cruise, but hubby and I have cruised on other lines before. We're both sailing on the Carnival Paradise in a week.

I'd like to go on Palo too. Don't know if DH wants to do tlhat.

We'll be joining you on the 5. I have a bit of a lead foot so it goes by pretty quick and no need for hotels. The kids will end up missing one day of school, but I'm pretty sure they're willing to sacrifice to go on the cruise. See you on the road.

My kids are missing an entire week of school...our spring break isn't until the following week...oh well. They are both great students and can do all of their missed work during the actual spring break.

My kids are missing an entire week too. I'm a teacher in a public school, and this is MY week off for Spring, but they go to a christian school, and their break is an Easter break that actually coincides with Easter. But...they are both straight A students and will be fine. Their school encourages family time.

My kids go to Christian school as well, and their school too encourages family vacations.

Just wanted to let everyone know--the Disney cruise website has slowly started to post shore excursions for Mexico. The Mazatlan ones are up now.

Does anyone have ideas about which excursions you are thinking of doing?

Hi you all...

My name is Shaq lol (maybe), I'm Italian and I have found this thread only today... I thought I could help you especially during your visit here in Italy with any informations.

I Have visited Florence Barcelona Rome Naples and could suggest you the cheapest and the fastest way to visit these cities, helping with the public transportation, tourist informations, what is worth being and what not...
etc etc...

Using "scheduled tours" can be very expensive and you will never see what you want... the way you want... for the time you want... for the money you want...

Today i gave any notes to reach Pompei "on your own..." using public transportation, but I can help you to translate italian site, to find good restaurants as you don't know the language and you can read all the italian reviews about them...

I'm just 33yo but I have travelled a lot in my life (I was twice in disneyworld (10 days at all), once in Disneyland-Anaheim (4days), once in Disneyland Paris (4 days) and had a 7 nights caribbean cruise, so I think we have lot of common interests (especially about travelling).

I have spent 4 days in Florence last week and I saw there lot of disney cruise line Guests arrived from La Spezia... That's why I started to post here in DIS, maybe I can help anyone to plan ur cruise and your excursions as I did before in another post with a friend who needed to reach Pompei ;)

I like to save lot of money (I've visited the Disney's Character Premiere in the Premium Outlet in Florida :woohoo: and this just because of the informations shared in internet between the travellers) and use them for many other things.-

I'm sorry, I know my english is not really good, hope you can understand me "anyway" :worship:

Have fun planning your cruise...

At your disposal

shaq

We both need to celebrate! My DH and I will be celebrating our Anniversary on board as well. March 22nd, 8 years for us!:lovestruc:lovestruc

Yay! :cool1: It'll be 12 years for us. Happy Anniversary to us! :goodvibes

I haven't been on this thread in forever! And now I have so many pages to catch up on. I'll be back.

There has been a thread about Disney removing ports from itineraries. Puerta Vallarta and Mazatlan are no longer on my reservations. From what I have read these ports have been removed from all reservations starting in January. People have called Disney and the agents do not know anything about it. Hopefully, Disney will make a decison soon, so we can really plan our excursions.

I was reading the thread about the missing ports as well. I have been wondering if the Mazatlan excursions being listed is a sign that it is staying on our itinerary.

One of the main reason we are doing this particular cruise is that it stops in Puerta Vallarta which is near my father-in-law's house and he has been pressuring us to visit him. If DCL takes it off the itinerary, I don't know what my husband is going to want to do.

Honestly, I wouldn't read too much into ports missing at this
point. DCL's website is often not all that up to date. On my Eastern cruise it had a wrong port for a bit (we went to St Croix, not Tortola).

I think it's much more likely that DCL hasn't finalized the order of the ports, and that would affect port times as well. Since DCL is the "new" line on the block in the MR, they will need to take the port days/times not already booked by other cruise lines. Also, originally Mariner of the Seas was still going to be doing the MR- maybe DCL is trying to change schedules since that leaves an opening. Just speculating...:goodvibes

I totally agree--don't read much into the missing ports right now. With Disney putting up the shore excursions I would second that it's probably a matter of them not knowing the order of the ports, which days, etc. rather than skipping them.

I'm so excited I can barely stand it. These months are going to fly by!

Sorry, I am new to DIS and not able to PM yet... Can you add us to the FE Exchange list? Katie, Jay, DD Lauren 6, and DD Audrey 3. Thanks!

199 more days! It's always exciting to get under the 200 mark.

We just got back on Friday from a four day on Carnival's Paradise. Now that has to hold me until March I guess.

There are quite a few of us from the Pacific Northwest :goodvibes!

I am taking a Carnival cruise in 52 days to celebrate my 40th birthday. And I'm going to hang out at WDW for 4 days post-cruise, by myself, and will be attending MNSSHP...Happy Birthday to me :thumbsup2 !

That will certainly help pass the time until March. Although final payment always seems to come way too fast!
