Disney Wonder Jan 23, 2011

I am having cruise fever, too! pirate: Especially since originally we were set to sail on the Westward bound cruise from Europe! We would be in the middle of the Atlantic right now. ;>( Reading posts on facebook from a few people I friended :sad1:
I can't do a whole lot of definite plans for excursions. We are waiting to see how generous Jeff's boss will be with his bonus this November. After we spend some $$ for Christmas, we will see what we have left and what is still available. But Palo is still planned. We will make the reservation but we will have to see if we can keep it or not later. :wizard:
Our plan with the FE's is to divide the cabins up for a few each day. Now I just need to get cracking on creating them! :scared1:
Pirate night! I will have to bring the bandanas from our last cruise so we can get with the theme this time. Jeff & I are not really into "dressing up" but if we have a bandana, we won't feel like total party poopers. :rolleyes1 For our trip to DL for the Halloween party next month we will probably find a shirt of some kind but Alec is going to be Indiana Jones. If anyone wants to know more about Halloween @ DLR the ladies on this thread I am following have great info and pictures:
Halloween DLR Super Thread!

Off to read over all the excursions again! Have fun on the Scavenger Hunt, Jessica, Ryan, Yanira & Sergio. Look for Gingerbread Beignets @ Cafe Orleans! I hear they are amazing. :woohoo:

Just got this e-mail from our Disney Concierge specialist about our 1-23-11 cruise:

As of now Formal Night on night # 2, Pirate Night on night # 4 and Semi Formal on night #6.

We look forward to sailing with you!
:cheer2::sail:

If anyone was wondering how the D23 Scavenger Hunt went.........
1. It was unbearably hot.
2. It was a really long day.
3. It had some operational issue, but I think the next one will be really good.
4. All that aside I think everyone had a good time.
5. The scores were finally posted. We finish 158th (tied) out of 498 teams. Not great, but not bad either.

I worried about you guys in that horrible heat! Glad to see you finished in top 1/3? better than at the bottom. :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Just booked fishing with Mazatlan Frank :cool1:Anyone still want to come with us? We have room for 4 more people. come on Oct 25

No problem, they told me that they would contact me about 30 days before with the movies that they would be showing...so I will pass that along as well.

I appreciate all of the information being passed along as well. At least I know what night to book Palo as the Pirate Night menu was my least favorite of them all.

Hello everyone!

I have officially completed the first half of my paralegal course with a 96.5. I'm so happy! :cloud9: I have a break until October 18th, so I"ll be able to check in with the boards more often now.

The Scavenger Hunt was AWESOME!!! Not only did we have fun trying to figure things out, but we got to meet Jessica and Ryan, who are GREAT! and knew so much more than we did. As Ryan mentioned earlier, it was REALLY hot (it was 102 degrees at one point), the amount of questions in our booklet seemed impossible to answer, and we were kind of disappointed with the results. They basically gave us 5 hours to answer 330 questions, where the answers were in the hotels, DD, DL, AND DCA! It was ridiculous. :rotfl2:We managed to break 100 points though, which was awesome, and we didn't think we were going to. Jessica, Ryan, Sergio and I are going to try to go back to DL/DCA before the cruise. And this time, it won't be to power walk around the park looking for answers. :thumbsup2 We all decided we would definitely do it again, but we would be more prepared this time.

Tomorrow is Mickey's Trick or Treat Party for us! pirate: Can't wait!

Have you been reading through all the info on the Halloween @ DLR Super thread? I have been tracking it like crazy. Lots of good advance info and LOTS of pictures of goodies and a few trip reports from Friday.

Counting the days to be able to book things for the cruise!
Later,
Sue

Thanks for the birthday wish. Spent 9 straight hours in meetings today, but am spending a long weekend at DLR to make up for it :)

I also can't wait to book. I want to snag a brunch, tea, Palo, and Rasul reservations. Just can't decide if brunch should be day 1 and rasul day 2 or the other way around.

Cathy,

That would be great!! Go ahead an book it!! I have 3 in my party that want to go fishing. Mark, Clint, and my nephew Tanner (15 yr old) everyone else changed their minds so there will be room for one more or we can just split it 5 ways. Will Frank pick you all up at the pier or will we have to get everyone to him? I can't wait until Disney posts the shore excursions so we can see what else may be going on.

Thanks again,
Emily:)

Emily I made the deposit with Frank and here is what he said

You will get off the ship as soon as you can (aprox 8am) and by the gangway of your ship, you will have to take a complimentary shuttle to the terminal building. Once you get there, try to avoid the timeshare people and go thru the building. As you exit, you will go straight to where the taxis are. You will tell them to take you to KING FISH. It is about 5 mins away by taxi and the cost should be around 6 to 8us per cab for up to 4. Try 6 dollars, which should be the cost.
King Fish is close to the lighthouse and is the second fleet to your left. It is not hard to find. You will look for Pablo. He knows all about your trip. He will take care of you.

I also found the King Fish website http://kingfishfleet.com/index.html

You guys that are going with Randi do you have to take a taxi or is she picking you up?

Cathy,

Randi (or one of her workers) meets us at the terminal building and then escorts us to the riding location. We do have to take a taxi and a water taxi, but those costs are include in the excursion fare.

Happy (belated) Birthday Yanira and Kris!

Yanira - Great job with your grade. I'm glad you had fun at the Scavenger Hunt.

Any other obsessive planners like me who like to try to choose their rotations, I found out from my TA that Disney will be doing the same rotation schedule as the Eastern where they use APTAPTA, PTAPTAP, and TAPTAPT where A-Animator's Palate, P-Parrot Cay, and T-Triton's. She also confirmed the Formal, Pirate, and Semi-Formal nights as previously posted. This helps try to pick out a rotation that lets us choose our Palo night without worrying about missing something like the show in Animator's Palate.

I hope everyone is doing well!

Thank you for the birthday wishes everyone! :goodvibes It's awesome to know we share the same birthday, Kris! :thumbsup2

So the Halloween trick or treat party was amazing. Quick summary: it was raining for most of the day, and stopped raining 5 minutes before we got there. It was so cool! I don't know if it was because of the rain or lack of ticket sales, but the park was soooo empty. There were 5-15 minute waits on ALL the rides. We got there at 7:45 p.m., and ate as soon as we got there, so we only had about 3 hours to do whatever we wanted to do until we were kicked out. We were able to ride on Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain and saw Captain EO, and took pictures with Genie, Jafar, and Hades. The Halloween parade was short but very cute, and the fireworks (which are exclusive for the Halloween party this year) are the SAME fireworks that were shown last year during the Halloween season
. We got tons of candy and had A LOT of fun.

Okay, I have to get back to work.

How was the Trick or Treat Party? We can't decide if it is worth going to or not.
I found this review of the party on Oct 1st. It was worth just looking through the pictures. But she has a detailed list of what rides are open, in fact she has pictures of the special maps they hand out. http://colddeadfish.net/dlr/mhp100110.html Let me know if you guys decide to join us on the 15th!
Just think everyone....Halloween :clown:, Thanksgiving:stir:, Christmas :cold:, New Years & POOF! we will be on our cruise!:sail::sunny:
