Disney Wonder Hawaii Sept. 2015

What is all this Dummy cruises I been reading about? do you get a discount if you have a cruise booked and switch? How does this work?:confused3

We booked a cruise while we were onboard in February and Disney gives you a break with only a 10% down payment plus a $200 onboard credit. Then you have 18 months from the day you book to take at least a 7 day cruise. You have to take a 7 night minimum cruise for the offer.
So you can pick any cruise then go home see when you can vacation again and move the cruise if you can't take the original cruise you booked on board.

The plus I didn't know about when we did this is that if and when you change the date to the new cruise, they give you the price the cruise was the day you booked the original sailing. So for us it was a few hundred dollars less than what was being offered online now.

Oh so you have to be on a cruise to book another one...:rolleyes2

Waiting is the hardest part. I would rather just have the schedule and be able to plan. ::yes::

This^ I'm trying to plan a vacation for DH 40th, and this would be his dream come true! We are new to DCL (but not cruising in general)- when would you normally expect the Sept 2015 itineraries to be released??? The anticipation is killing me, lol!

DCL tends to put out thier stuff when they want to. The rumor is sometime in June. Just keep posted here and you will here. Usually Platnium and Gold have priority of one day with Silver and others next day.

I looked up the port dates for the "mystery" ship and here are my conclusions. They are scheduling two one way trips. One from the west coast somewhere over to Hilo on Sept 13, then to Kawai on Sept 14, then to Maui for an overnight stay Sept 15-16, and ending on Oahu Sept 17 after an overnight stay Sept 16-17 so everyone can visit Aulani. The next cruise will start Sept 17 but not leave port until Sept 18 because the ship is scheduled in port Sept 16-18. It is in Maui Sept 18-19, Hilo Sept 20, and then Kawai Sept 21 before heading back to the west coast. The port dates all line up so it all makes sense. Just my theory. I would rather do the 14 night round trip myself instead of the short cruises with a flight but we will do Hawaii no matter what.

A one-way would still be nine or ten days -- which is longer than most Disney cruises. Full disclosure, I loved the inaugural 15-day round trip cruise, tho there were a lot of at-sea days. The Panama Canal cruise (also 15 days) had ports interspersed with the at-sea days, so there weren't as many consecutive at-sea days. It does make a difference.

I agree too many consecutive sea days can be too much of a good thing so I think the one way will be more appealing to most people.

If you notice on the EBTA in 2015 they broke up the sea days more by going north with various stops. It's no longer 5 consecutive. I know going to Copenhagen that makes sense (going north), but it does look like they made sure to split up the sea days more as well... Just wondering if that and the likelihood of a one way to Hawaii are related...

The past EBTA cruises as well as this month's had 6 consecutive sea days between Castaway Cay and Madeira. Last year there were 10 sea days total - which are a lot on a 14-night cruise! However, Disney did a great job scheduling plenty of activities on board.

I don't see any relation between the 2015 EBTA itinerary and possible Hawaii one-way cruises with 5 sea days in a row. If DCL does do one-ways, I think it will be to spend an extra day in Hawaii, as well as encourage people to stay at Aulani before or after the cruise.

The Jones Act requires that non-US flagged ship cannot transport passengers between 2 US ports. That would require the mainland port of embarkation for a 1-way trip to Hawaii be a non-US port. Personally, we enjoyed the many sea days.

So pretty much this guarantees Vancouver as a beginning or ending point for 1 ways?

I've heard rumors about a one way to Hawaii, and I have to say I hope it isn't so! A one way airfare from Oahu to NJ would probably be NUTS! and we LOVED the 14 night Oct 2012 sailing to Hawaii so much that when we heard the first rumors that DCL may be going back to Hawaii, my hubby said - we are going!! ( we LOVE sea days ) BUT - just in case - we booked a June 1st Alaska cruise with our 2 sons -and let them know if they offer Hawaii in Sept - Alaska is on hold, and Mom and Dad are going back to Hawaii!

My guess is the ship will stop in a foreign port like Ensenada on the way over then do the same on the way back, which would satisfy the foreign port requirement. We too LOVED the October 2012 Hawaii sailing and the sea days were amazing and the time went so quickly. We were hoping for another roundtrip Hawaiian cruise but it doesn't look like that will be happening. We have decided to book the second cruise and since it appears we will be flying into Oahu we will likely spend a few days at Aulani before the cruise. Better start saving now!!

Loved the consecutive sea days on the RT Hawaii trip! So much to do on a Disney ship and with 8 I didn't feel like that was even enough time. Best trip ever.

Stopping in Ensenada would only satisfy the foreign port requirement on a round-trip. To sail one way, the cruise would have to originate or end at a foreign port, or stop at a distant foreign port, and no port in Mexico or Canada is considered distant. Which is why a one-way would either begin or end in Vancouver or Ensenada.

Or Puerto Rico. I still think they might do the Panama Canal cruise starting in Hawaii and ending in San Juan, followed by some Southerns. It would be a long cruise though.
