Disney Wonder Hawaii Sept. 2015

Getting excited! Any day now!

I mentioned to my doctor during a recent visit about our upcoming Bahamian cruise, and he prescribed a patch that goes behind the ear for nausea/motion sickness. My DH and I haven't had problems with motion sickness in the past, but it is our first cruise. Has anyone used these?

I mentioned to my doctor during a recent visit about our upcoming Bahamian cruise, and he prescribed a patch that goes behind the ear for nausea/motion sickness. My DH and I haven't had problems with motion sickness in the past, but it is our first cruise. Has anyone used these?

DH used the patch (he's much prone to motion sickness), and I'll point out there are some significant side effect issues. Most common of which is super dry mouth. It can also cause dilated pupils (blurry vision) and disorientation in some people.

I would think that, if you haven't had any motion sickness issues in the past, I'm not sure you need the patch. It's really the last resort for those who do have problems with it.

There are many less potent remedies available (Bonine, Dramamine, sea bands, ginger, etc) if you need them.

Thanks so much for the information! He did tell me to thoroughly wash my hands anytime I touch them because if they are handled and then rub your eyes, your pupils will dialate and stay that way for days! Eek!

I have had friends who have good luck with bands/magnets/etc.

Look like the Hawaii port schedule has added another "Inchcape Special" port date (well, at least I hadn't seen it yet)!! Inchcape special is the shipping agent and we are fairly certain is code name for Disney wonder on the port calendars! It seems that the wonder will be in Nawiliwili Harbor, Kauai on sept. 14, 2015 and Sept. 21, 2015. It sure looks more and more like DCL is setting up two one-way probably vancouver - hawaii cruises, doesn't it? Now I just need to figure out which day it will likely leave vancouver and whether its 4 or 5 full days at sea to get there. So far we have:

?Leave maybe vancouver- days at sea
sunday 9/13 Hilo Harbor
Monday 9/14 Nawiliwili Harbor, Kauai
Tuesday 9/15 Kahului Harbor, Maui 7:45 am overnight till
Wednesday 9/16 leaves Maui 6pm
Thursday 9/17 Honalulu Harbor (Probably disembark/ embark day)
Friday 9/18 Maui overnight
Sat 9/19 leave Maui 6pm
sunday 9/20 Hilo Harbor
Monday 9/21 Nawiliwili harbor, Kauai
then days at sea to ?Vancouver

There was a similar calendar for September 2013. The repeat of ports indicates that two one-way cruises (September 7-17 and September 17-27) between Vancouver and Honolulu are being planned rather than one round-trip cruise from California. Royal Caribbean schedules 5 sea days between departure from Vancouver to arrival in the first Hawaiian port. With the last 2015 Wonder Alaska cruise ending in Vancouver on Sept. 7, and Sept. 8-12 at sea - that fits with the first port stop in Hilo on Sept. 13. :)

That would be my plan too! Aulani and cruise!:cloud9:

One way works for me, I don't think I could handle all the sea days for a roundtrip. :thumbsup2

I've been watching that one because I noticed the gap between Hilo and Maui, and I missed it! Thanks for posting. All I can say is this is an ODD course, lots of back and forth, and I think it means no night time volcano cruising since they have to haul it from Hilo to Kauai. We're very excited, but I'm scared to death of the pricing.

What's the speculation on where she heads on Sept 27th? That's when Fall Break starts around here.

If the Wonder returns to Vancouver, then a repo cruise to San Diego (or LA) before a Panama Canal cruise. The ship could do the second one-way from Honolulu to Ensenada, Mexico. However, that's more of a hassle as the passengers would have to be bussed across the border to San Diego.

What makes you believe Vancouver? Was really hoping for round trip out of So Cal.

Just calculating the 2 different dates currently on the port schedules, makes it seem that, since there are 2 dates for each port, that there are two separate cruises. They wouldn't visit the same port twice in one cruise like that.

I'd love to do Hawaii if it's starting or ending in Vancouver. It saves me more $ which I'm sure I will need for the cruise. I'm afraid I might be priced out of this one.

I guess I'll have to wait and see when Disney releases the rest of 2015.

Well if they are one ways I must thank DCL for ruining what I wanted to do for my 40th birthday. That's why I booked the 11 night Norway/Iceland cruise as a back up and I am probably not going on that one due to overall cost with airfare. Oh well. So I guess alt plans need to be thought of for my big birthday.

if it is one way cruises that'll be us out as it's silly travel time for us to fly to Hawaii (between 22 and 31 hours depending on 1 or 2 connections) so looks like we'll be looking for something else instead :( At least I can start to think of something else instead as a backup so I won't be disappointed if it is a one way trip.

this makes me sad! I have a large family and one way to vancouver and one way back from hawaii airfare is cost prohibitive for this cruise...i was justifying what will be a high cruise price with driving to cali or low airfare but this will not be the case now...:sad1::sad:

now i will have to think about alauni with roundtrip airfare as a better option...but prob wont do that trip til littlest ones are 5-6 years old so in about 4 years...very disappointing...will prob do a halloween cruise instead to beat my nov 2015 deadline for using my onboard rebooking bonus
