Disney Wonder Dry Dock Watch - 11/10 Wonder departs on first cruise out of Galveston

Sorry if this has already been answered... Does anyone know who will be captain post dry dock?

I have the same feelings but about the Frozen show. Well, and I've already sailed all the ships so grand slam complete. We are on the first Wonder sailing post drydock. Hubby wants to see the show from he.... (never mind). I'm even going to go with him...with the promise of no less than 2 martinis pre-show & 1 to carry in. I have earbuds & have a knack for napping on the fly. I also dislike formal nights on cruises so I spend those swimming & enjoying things I normally wouldn't make time to do. I say go for your grand slam & make your Tiana's night your un-New Orleans evening. Swim. Catch a movie. Eat Palo. Or stay in & pig out on room service while watching Mickey tv!
I am very interested in the post drydock Wonder. I hope your sailing doesn't get bumped. Please write about it ASAP, while on board if possible.

We originally booked the cruise completely fine with it getting bumped. I live about 30 minutes from Galveston. No travel expenses to lose. If it bumps I have everything to gain. It's not going to. I heard in passing from someone who has a friend working on the ship during drydock that it's mostly complete already. ;)

Is that the 11/10 cruise?

OK. I need your help with these... I *think* they’re of the Wonder, specifically in the new Cabanas expansion... However the pictures weren’t labeled at all, and I’ve only been on the Wonder once. Maybe someone else can see something that identifies it for sure? What I do know for sure is they’re recent (from last few hours) and are taken on a ship that is in drydock at Cadiz.

Yes, I agree that this looks like the Wonder Cabanas extension. If you look at he picture of the outside of the Wonder you can see the Cabanas extension very well.

You can tell from the inside that it is the same design as on the Magic with the little "roofs" over the stations and the one pillar will be an umbrella. They have that on the Magic, too.

Just when I was starting to think we wouldn’t see many more pictures I ran across another.

Kind of dark, but you can see they’re working into the night.

These are from today on the Wonder supposedly (at least, that’s how they were tagged), but I’ll leave it to you experts to tell me if they look any different than before.

Love seeing the new pics! Looks like more is getting out there as there is an update over on DCL Blog as well. Lots of progress. There's mention of a concierge sun deck above outlook cafe, But I'd suspect that is the previously discussed extension/sundeck for Vibe, with concierge lounge on floor below it according to deck plan.

I may be wrong, and probalbly am, but there does seem to be a new structure aft port side on the upper most deck. This appears on the post from October 10. I wasn't sure at first, and I thought this might have just been in the background and part of the shipyard. If you go back to the duck tail photo from Sept 27 you again see this structure in the background by the white building on the pier. The structkure has 7 or 8 landings and appears to be about the same height as deck 6 or 7 on the ship. You can see this structure again in the most recnet post to the left (smaller in perspective). This structure could be part of some new offering on the ship (a slide or something else!) or maybe not.

I am not usually too interested in all of the assorted ship's cosmetic changes, but as a chronic sidewalk superintendent this caught my attention. I and an engineer as well as a former naval officer who went through a couple of ships overhauls. We will be on the Wonder this winter.

First of all: Welcome to the DIS!!

I really cannot figure out what you are talking about, I am sorry! Maybe you could quote the pictures you talk about? I have big problems to identify them.

Quoting is easy. If you highlight the text and/or pictures you want to quote as if you wanted to copy them, you will get a small blue box to appear that says "+Quote | Reply", if you hit +Quote it will be stored, You can do that as often as you wish. Then go to the box for writing the reply. There you will have a white button on the bottom left corner saying "Insert Quotes". Hit this and then you just have to confirm that you want to add in those snippets that you selected before.

Here are where my thoughts came from: The first link has what I think may be the structure in place on the ship, The Disney Link has a view of the structure on the pier in the picture of the duck tail (This picture also appears elsewhere in the blog, and there is another picture of the structure on the pier elsewhere). The above picture has what seems to be the structure just aft of the red flag.

One of the biggest bummers for me in these photos is seeing they have indeed modified the secret deck on deck 7 :(

I might be alone in this, but in the pictures on the DCL Blog I think the ship looks really sleek and stylish right now before the yellow scrollwork gets painted back on. I know it's part of the DCL look but it would make the ship look classic but modern if it was kept like it is now!
