I just called DCL this morning (2/22/12) and found out the following information:

1. I was told now that there WILL be a pirate night. It will be Friday when we are in Juneau.

2. Movies showing on our sailing:

I was hoping to get a list of what shows will be what nights, but she was unable to give that to me. She said it would be in Personal Navigator.

Hi all,
I am getting so excited for this Alaskan Cruise!! We have done DCL many times, but I've never been to Alaska.

I do think it's kinda weird that there is not a lot of action on this thread. I have looked at the other DCL Alaska threads and there seems to be a lot of discussion.

Anyway, I have only noticed a few of you are interested in doing the Fish Extenders. I agree with Tinkerbell0611, I think it would be fun even with a small group, or even to just exchange with adults is fun too.

I have made a list of everyone on this site and what they have said as to doing the FE. If your name is on this list, but there is no response, please either post if you are interested or not, or feel free to PM me.

Just a little fun FYI for all of you who may not know:

You can bring a pillowcase, blank frame mat, t-shirt, card, etc. with some sharpies and and take it to the front desk at the beginning of the cruise and all of the characters will sign it and return it to your cabin on the last day of the cruise. You can have 4 items per cabin signed. We've done the picture frames and they are so cute. I'll post a pic when my laundry is done!!

Thanks for sharing all this information! It seems we have a few first time cruisers, myself included, and I know I appreciate all the tips. Will have to get something signed for our scrapbook! Can't wait!
Forgive what may be a silly questions but formal night, semi-formal night?...what does one wear?

I am sure on some ships formal means tux or suit and tie. I would say the Disney Cruise is a little more relaxed. Don't get me wrong, you might see 1 or 2 tuxes, but not a lot. Formal night people are dressed very nice. I travel with some pretty casual folks and for formal night they will wear nice slacks, nice shirt and jacket. My dad and husband don't wear ties and it's no problem. Women don't need to wear evening gowns - just a nice dress or fancy pantsuit.

For us, formal and semi-formal are about the same.

I'm a big Disney fan too. Been to quite a few events (D23, Disneyana way back when, gumball rally...). My favorite is Snow White and Seven Dwarfs (75th coming up soon )

Big Disney fans. We just finished 1 year with Premiere passes and did four trips to Disneyland and one to WDW during the year.

Did the Premiere offer any additional bonus? (discounts, special perks...) I have a premium for DL (go at least monthly) and was just wondering what the next level offers beyond bi-coastal theme park admission, is it worth it when you plan to go to both in the same year?
