Hi, In feb I'm going to disney with my highschool band and chior. Well I'm mostly going with choir (um I can't play instruments). I was just wondering what did the choir do? I i know they preform but is there anything elese. Also I'm in the color guard so I will be in the parade with the band. So what is he parade like and what happens.
My choir and band teacher hasn't told us anything yet. If theres anything else about the magic music days you can tell me I'd greatly appriciate.

Thanks,
Ashley Bea

I have seen the highschool perform and Magic Kingdom and I saw them later riding on the rides. For your particular choir trip I would ask for details for the teacher/ person in charge. By the way I am in choir and you are so lucky to be able to go. I missed the Rome trip last year because I am just now a freshman. You are so lucky!

It depends on your school's policies about the trip. I've gone to both DW and DL with my school's band/orchestra/choir. We were allowed to go on our own in the park, but we had to stay in the park. Because of how tight our schedule was, we wouldn't have had time to park hop. As for the Magic Music Days, you'll meet your group at a specific location (depending on where you perform) in the park, a guide will take you backstage, explain all the rules about being backstage, show you where you'll be getting changed. You'll get a few minutes to warm up, and then they lead you out. For the parade (if you're in MK), they'll line you up right at the gate in Frontierland. A guide (or two?) are going to be walking right in front of the your banner, about six-eight feet away, showing you were to go. You'll march the normal parade route. Then it's a short hike back to the building (you'll get a great view of the backlot this way).

There were a bunch of rules that really need to be followed. We had people who weren't allowed to march- Disney refused them. The biggest rule- no cameras WHATSOEVER. If they see anyone taking pictures, they took the film and the person couldn't march. Had this happen to two people. Another rule is the dresscode. Everyone has to be uniform. Everyone. Including the chaperones who march with you. They'll all dress the same. Our director had to buy socks in bulk because they had to be the same.

If there's anything else you want to know, just ask!

Starstruckdancer ... How exciting for you! Both of my children have performed with their high school bands at Magic Kingdom. You will have so much fun! Just remember Disney is very strict about their rules, follow them & things will be just fine. The parade will take about 2 and a half hours out of your day, your performance about 15 minutes! Have fun & enjoy ... you will be making the magic that day!party:

Thanks everyone for your answers.

I have another question! lol

About how long are the chior workshops??

I swear my band and choir teachers aren't telling us anything. We have a peice of paper saying what we need and a website with our schedule but the schedule is so unrealistic and just so confusing. It says we are going to leave the airport in Florida at 5pm and be at the Philly airport at 5:30pm. Ummmmm I don;t think so and then it says were going to blizzard beach after we arrive home. UMM What?? lol.

Thanks again for all your help :)
