BIG POST!!!
SO first off! My hair and make-up trial took place two weekends ago! It actually went pretty well. My hairstylist had cancelled before due to an illness, so she managed to open the salon on Sunday just for me!
Which was awesome because we weren't rushed and I was really able to feel her out and get a lot of advice!
I basically just let her do her thing in regards to my makeup, I brought in a few pics, but nothing specific! She did sort of a smokey-eye but real light, using browns and some golds. She was light on the blush and I LOVED the lipstick! She is going to buy me some to keep and use for the wedding day!
She did an AWESOME job on the hair- it was exactly what I wanted. We did for-go the ribbon headband and we are going to just use the headpiece that my mom and I made and I am also going to go ahead and include a small veil! Which I was totally against at first- but then I thought- when else can you wear a veil in your life? And I am just going to have it on for the ceremony and that's it! She is going to make the braid tighter and neater for the actual wedding, so it will be a little more clean.
Here is a couple pictures! You couldn't really see a lot of detail outside with the lighting so I took the majority in the bathroom!
And one for fun when I took it all down! Haha I literally took these pictures and then hopped in the shower so I could go meet Thomas... haha my mom said it was the quickest she'd ever seen her money go so fast!
The meet up with the florist went well as well! We really didn't need too many flowers, just basically a bouquet for me, flowers for the mom's and grandma one carnation for each table for the centerpieces, rose petals for the aisle and flowers for the boys! We are going to try the all carnation idea with possibly a mickey head in the center either with crystals or black carnations and the wrapped base with teal ribbon. I might need to see a trial of the colors and what it looks like! I am thinking for the boys, adding some type of Mickey silhouette either with buttons, or pins or something to just add a little Disney touch. SO I need to either make those, or buy some! She was all on board for the Disney touches, and she gets my craziness, so that is a good thing!
I also was in a mad search for a white rehearsal dress- but so far for the past months I have had no such luck! I did manage to score some very nice dresses for good prices, and now have three options for the rehearsal! What do you think? Worse comes to worse, if I find another dress #2 and #3 can be just nice casual/maybe work attire dresses, and #1 can be a fun party dress, or nice formal dress for a wedding! That sucker might make an appearance in 2 weddings and my rehearsal!

We have one more payment to make on our Honeymoon! And speaking of Honeymoon... guess who got a ressie for the Dessert Party on November 12th!?!?
SO excited! It will be our first night in Disney and the day after we get married!
We finally got DF a ring from Overstock. We ordered two separate styles and he ended up liking one better! It is a little darker than this, but it is so pretty!! We do have to send it back and order a smaller size, but at least we have a decision!
We are finalizing the menu with the venue next week and the bar and we will get to do a tasting some time in October. We are also going to schedule an engagement session with our photographer mid-October for a meet and greet photo-op session. Which we probably won't buy the pictures because we already did some with my parents, but it will be fun to get to know the photographer better, and for her not to be a complete stranger on our wedding day!
We are toying with the idea of a Halloween session as well with costumes and all, so it might be too cool!
A bit of personal news!
I have a job interview at Apple for next week- so here's hoping that goes well! And I have a few other resumes floating around!
Our lease for our house is up in October- and with the wedding planning and everything going on we thought we would ask the landlord/real estate agent about possibly committing to a 6 month lease versus a year lease, since we are really thinking about buying a house and starting a life here. Well needless to say.. even in a recession this lady will not budge! Even though she could make another like $7,000+ on us! I don't get it! We are model tenants, and not to mention we don't live in the safest neighborhood in the world- and she knows our situation, and only thing she offered was to replace the carpet upstairs if we stayed... by far the dumbest incentive ever.
SO we really don't want to sign another year lease, one because this place is just so far from our jobs, and everything we love about downtown, and honestly if she wants to be difficult, I don't really want to put anymore money in her pocket. SO basically we are left with the option of moving in less than 2 weeks, and trying to find an apartment for 6 months and house-hunt in the mean time. But packing up a house in 2 weeks, and all the wedding planning and packed weekends and work, it is going to be a nightmare! AND to top it off.. apparently Siberian Huskies are on a dumb aggressive breeds list, and 90% of the apartment complexes around here won't allow her.
So we have a real estate agent looking for us, but if we don't find something probably by mid next week, I think we are stuck here for another year!
We are both kind of torn on what to do!
