DH & I haven't been to WDW since almost 2 years before DS was born, so we are going through withdrawal. With the latest offer going around, we are thinking about planning a trip in December (before x-mas), when DS would be 22 months old. Is that a really bad idea?

What can an almost 2 year old do in the parks? He is also a very active :hyper:little boy already, that doesn't like to be strapped into a stroller for long periods of time. Can this work? Someone please convince me that this won't be the worst vacation ever and we don't have to wait another year!

Also, any stroller tips would be greatly appreciated. Rent vs bring own, favorite brands, etc. Thanks!

We took our ds (and dd) in Nov 06 when he was 20ish mos old. I was very worried b/c he is a VERY high maintenance. He was no stroller lover either. To my surprise, he did awesome!!! He had a great time. He was fine in the stroller but spent most of his time on my back in our Beco Baby Carrier. LOVE the Beco.

Your 22 mos old can do so many things at Disney!

We went when DS was just about that age, and it was a good vacation. I used to be a commando-style WDW vacationer, and I wasn't satisfied if I hadn't tackled everything on my "Must Do" list (which was 3 feet long!). It was on that trip that I learned my new attitude: stop to smell the Disney roses! Don't forget to go back to your room for nap time. Even if DS didn't nap, we all needed some time for him to rest or at least be somewhat contained. He was/is very energetic to put it mildly. In MK, he could have spent all day at the Pooh's Playful Spot. That and the little soft play area in Toon Town are good to have in mind when your DS needs a little unstructured play time. Also, Tom Sawyer Island is a lot of fun with a little playground and forts and lots of paths to discover. The trip was really a success, and totally worth the looks on his face enjoying everything. It is almost a gift to yourself to see Disney through their eyes.
Go and enjoy! Oh, and we used a rented Disney plastic stroller. Although he didn't always LOOK comfortable, he didn't have a problem falling asleep in it. I usually brouht along a blanket or rolled up sweater to prop his neck up with. They also have buckles in them for those times they really want to sprint on ya!:rotfl:

GO GO GO!!! WDW with one kid has got to be easier than 3. Magic Kingdom will be great for an almost 2 year old, especially Fantasy Land and Mickey's Toontown. Give him some time to run. Pooh's Playful spot is a great place to let the kids run after spending time standing in line. There is also a play area in Toontown across from Mickey's house. Tom Sawyer's Island in Frontier Land is also a great place to explore with out being strapped in a stroller. Our kids loved the shows, Tiki Birds, Country Bear Jamboree. Ride the WDW Railroad around the whole park (that way you don't have to take your stroller on the train).

Definately bring your own stroller. That way at the end of the day when he is tired you can still use it to get out of the park. If he still takes a nap, try to plan in some down time back at the hotel so he can recharge.

You can definately go and have a great time. At that age it is so magical to see the kids see Disney for the first time.

AK has the walking paths where you can meander and view the animals. There is a petting zoo at Rafiki's Planet watch. Kids will love the new Nemo the musical show and the Festival of the Lion King Pocahontas and her Forest Friends has live animals in it. He can even go on Kilamanjaro Safari.

Really other than the thill rides, a 2 year old can go on just about everything.

Go, relax, and enjoy the Disney magic through your son's eyes.
