We are desperate for a vacation and wonder if anyone has done Disney with 2 babies this young?

I know my 6 year old son will be just fine but its the babies I am more concerned about.

We are staying at Old Key West in a one bedroom so will have most of the conveniences of home there.

I guess I am concerned about taking Disney Transportation as well as feeding them at Disney.

Any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated.

I am travelling with my husband and we will be taking our twin stroller.
We are deciding on whether to drive or fly. The drive will be 21 hours and flying 2 1/2. We are thinking of driving because we can stop when we feel like it and possibly drive overnight so the kids sleep all the way.

Are we crazy??

We've never done Disney but we certainly vacationed when our twins were that age. (our oldest was only 2.5 when the twins arrived)

Anywho, FLY!!! I promise that you will have at least 2.5 hours of fussing in a 21 hour drive. When you fly, you and your DH can each take one baby. It won't be your most relaxing flight but will definitely be an easier day than two days of driving. Ship some of your "supplies" to your resort prior to your arrival to eliminate the need to lug it on the plane.

The only thing I'll mention is this; when we vacationed with ours at that age, it's more of just doing the same thing each day, just in another place. If you are fortunate enough to enjoy a Disney vacation every other year or so, then take them and have a wonderful time. If Disney vacations don't come around that often for you and your family, wait until they are a little older. Everyone will enjoy it a little more. Babies that age are just a lot of work. Tons of fun and twice the love but still a lot of work.

No you are not crazy- my twins were 10 months old when they first went & my baby was 6 months old when she first went. You just have to plan everything. Take your time - realize that you are not going to get to see everything. Do the important things first and take plenty of breaks. FLY!! It is easier than driving. And get each their own seat - you do not want to be flying 3 hours holding a baby. Enjoy your trip.

Geez, we waited until my "baby" was 5. No way did I want to deal with formula, baby food, diapers and WDW. That's just me, he really didn't start travelling well until he was 3(did many trips to Northern MI). The look on his face when we got into MK and he saw the castle was well worth the wait.

Don't know when you're planning to go, but I was there Thanksgiving week (Sun-Fri) and there was always a line in the ladies bathrooms to use the changing table at the parks.

We did it when my triplets were 8 months old. parts were hard and parts were easy
They were content to stay in the stoller, easy to feed, really enjoyed the sights. We also stayed in OKW the size room was great, kitchen and laundry was great and I would get in the whirltub bath to bath them
my kids were on a tight schedule and we had to be back in the room by 7. They would nap fine in the stoller during the day, but at night they would meltdown. rent a car, the buses were a nightmare with the babies and stoller. We went with my entire family so we had help holding the babies. Go to the grocery store when you get down there, I bought everything with us and ended up paying 80, for an overweight bag.
It wasn't the easiest of trips, but staying hom,e with 8 month of triplets by myself wasn't easy anyway so I might as well be in WDW
Good LUck

No, you're not crazy. Don't worry about feeding and stuff inside the park. As long as you are prepared with enough formula and diapers (and extra clothes... hours in the stroller tend to cause leaks!) each day, you'll be fine. Just be sure not to let your DH get carried away in the park and forget that you need help! Even the best husbands can forget how time consuming babies can be. Mine does it every time we go, in spite of the fact that he acts like Super Dad most of the time at home.

Have a great trip!

HI!! I think you will be fine at WDW!! If you are like me, my twins are on a strict schedule because it makes them happier!! So, as long as you feed them and have them on their nap schedule (whether in stroller or back in the room) I think everyone will be great! We are going in April and mine will be 13 months then. I am just a little worried about getting them to sleep at night. They just go right to sleep in their cribs at home so new surroundings might be a challenge.

When are you going?? Please keep us posted.
BTW, we have a Combi Twin Savvy stroller that we can carry on our shoulder for bus rides, but I believe the strollers will roll right onto the monorails.

Forgot to mention that we have a 7 year old son. He is the reason we are going. If we wait until the twins "are old enough" he will miss out on a wonderful childhood vacation!!

My eldest made his first trip at 10 and was glad as he said he probably would have been too scared to try some of the rides when he was younger. He's the ride wimp in the family.

Thanks all for the great advice!!

I so agree that things are difficult at home so we may as well be in Disney....Well Said!!

Also, my DS is 6 as well and to me these are the real magical years for him at Disney and I don't want him to miss out.

Can anyone tell me if these infants have slept in the pack and plays that are provided or have you gotten the cribs you requested.

I am also nervous about the boys sleeping in a play pen vs their crib. I hope they won't notice the difference and not want to sleep!!

Thanks again for all the advice.

If you could get your hands on a couple of those play pens, I would try a "dry run" at home. My youngest was a pistol about sleeping in those. He got better after we moved him to a bed.

When staying at OKW with a bulky stroller, you may want to request a villa on the ground floor, as most of the buildings do not have elevators, and getting a big stroller up and down stairs can be challenging.
