Q: Are my guests required to stay at Walt Disney World Resort? Will they receive discounted room rates?
A: No. Your guests may stay wherever they please. However, to make it easier and more affordable for them to attend your special Disney event, we are pleased to offer discounted room rates available throughout Walt Disney World Resort. All you have to do is guarantee a minimum number of rooms or nights at hotels owned and operated by Walt Disney World Resort based on your number of guests. Your Disney Wedding Specialist will be happy to discuss these minimums in detail to ensure your comfort level.

I *thought* the bride and groom needed to stay on Disney property for a minimum number of nights but I am not seeing that on the site anywhere; I am sure someone else who is currently planning a Wishes wedding will post soon!
One thing to consider is transportation for your guests. Will your guests have cars? If not and you will be providing transportation to/from wedding events, the more places people are staying, you will need to devote a bigger budget to transportation.
I had an Escape wedding and all of our guests chose to stay on Disney property with the room discounts we were able to offer. That being said, I will make an assumption that your guests might be staying longer than mine did if they are coming from the UK so the cost differential between onsite and offsite may be quite significant over a longer stay. Personally, I love being in the "Disney Bubble" so always stay onsite.
