Just thought that now that the Wish is cruising with real guests, those who have been on the Wish already could post their thoughts/tips/advice here for us upcoming guests.

Thanks in advance for all the insights!

Don't get frustrated. There are many curvy hallways. Ask any CM if you are lost. Make an appointment through the app if you need to talk to guest services. Get to any event on the early side. Hyperspace Lounge was, to me, a lot of hype. Yes, it was cool but a one and done unless you are real hard core Star Wars fan. I thought the Star Wars theming in the kids club was MUCH better than Hyperspace Lounge.

No more Castaway Cay lanyards are being handed out across the fleet is what we were told so keep that in mind when you get to the port/ship and expect a lanyard. Bring your own.

I'll post more when I think of things.

We had Castaway Club lanyards in our stateroom on the DVC Charter of the Wish. We also got DVC lanyards.

We did not get our CC lanyards on the MV and were told they were stopping it across the fleet. DVC was handing out the DVC lanyards to members.

We did get one Wish lanyard but told that was one of the MV "gifts".

I hope the CM was incorrect!!

Any idea if all DVC members get them, or only if the cruise was booked through your DVC? We're members too, but didn't book this sailing through DVC and instead with a group of friends.

All DVC members should get DVC lanyards regardless of how the cruise was booked. If they are not in the room or hanging outside the door, stop by the DVC desk and ask for them.

If they are getting rid of lanyards, how ridiculous. DCL is turning into every other line now (as I don’t think any of them provide lanyards.)

That was something I looked forward to receiving when sailing on DCL. :( It was the little things like this that I remember. I guess we will find out in 11 days.

Are you sure about the lanyards? This is the first time I've heard about that and I'm sure it would have gotten more publicity from the various vloggers on the recent cruise. And one I saw from Alaska showed lanyards in the rooms.

I did hear there were some issues with getting things delivered to the Wish, like stateroom decorations being so late they just got them in a box, rather than decorated room. So maybe that's the issue?

Update: checked with a vlogger who is doing Wish B2B and they got lanyards. So it may have just been a glitch or supply issue on MV/DVC?

Good to know about lanyards if true. But I know vloggers who got off today got some I got plenty so will use them in February 2023 on Wish and October 2023 on Dream. Yup booked that today

Are you certain you only got one..? Ours was inside the tote bag. We got two of each of those and also two of the beach towel band.

If you are unable to get appointments for anything prior to sailing definitely check once you are onboard. We were able to get Palo brunch and reservations for Hyperspace Lounge after boarding.

Not all coffee is the same... (this will hopefully change)... after a couple of not great matcha lattes with my breakfast we braved the crowd at Cove Cafe and things were made sooo much better there. Could definitely be a training issue that will work itself out, but they didn't have honey on hand at the coffee bar in Marceline either I had to go find it myself. Cove Cafe still had the little jars of honey to use and a lot of their drinks have fun preparations and glasses (at least for now!).

Go early to events, especially in the theatre and Luna. I kept finding my view blocked by support beams... no one else has complained about the number of bad seats due to these but there are several of them in both venues and my late tendencies meant I got what I got! :rolleyes1

If you ride AquaMouse later on when there is no line they will let you stay in the raft and go as many times as you like.

The rainforest room has a swimsuit dryer. Could be a game changer for some folks...

We were two friends and only got one of every gift (I looked in the tote and there was one band and one lanyard). I had to go to guest service and request a second of everything. Our other friends in the next cabin got two of everything right off the bat. There was only one lanyard in the tote bag and then my friend got one when they delivered the other tote.

Everyone seemed to get a different answer when they asked about missing gifts. Some were told one per cabin, we were told one per household. Since we live in different households we then got the other gifts. I was not pushy about it at all and just asked if that how it was supposed to be. She saw that we both lived on the same street name so she thinks that was the mix up....they never checked the actual house numbers.

I spoke to a family of 4 and they only got one lanyard in their tote as well.

That is even curiouser... my husband and I absolutely have the exact same address! But, as OP had asked us to stay on topic I digress again.... sorry OP!! :(

So here is question for this thread... Where do you go to deal with each of the following on boarding:

1. Dining table requests
2. Palo brunch ressies
3. Hyperspace lounge ressies.

Also, what is the order I should try to approach all of these?

On the DVC Charter (July 19-22), MDR changes and (I believe) Palo were in Luna (deck 4). Hyperspace Lounge reservations were in Triton's.

If you connect to the ships wifi (DCL-GUEST) while in the terminal, you can chat with Guest Services using the DCL Navigator app to get the locations for your cruise as they may be different.
