Disney Weight Loss 2

As of today, I'm 140 lbs!
That's -18 from my highest weight.

Still not totally ready for the fact I'm going to be in a bikini for the next month xD (Going on a service trip where I live on a boat)

Congrats Jenny!

I don't consider myself overweight, but I think that I should start eating healthier. From now on I've decided to cut soda out of my diet completely. I never drink soda at home, only when I go out to eat. From now on i've decided to either order water or icedtea to drink while I'm out.

I want to start eating healther; eliminate fatty snacks replace with with fruit (I love fruit, pretty much any fruit known to man I will eat.)

Really the water thing cannot be stressed enough. Just drink it, constantly.

I know, right? I've pretty much completely replaced diet soda with water, and I feel so much better. The only time I drink it is if we go out (restaurant tap water, ew), but I might change that to iced tea.

Wow, that's a huge accomplishment! Congratulations, hun! :) And thanks Michelle, the 5 pound loss has really motivated me...

...until last night when I measured myself. Ugh, I can never win it seems. I'm not happy with the measurements at all.

I've found another great thing that works. Eating my food longer. Like yesterday I ate a subway sandwich, and I literally sat there and ate it for an hour it seemed. It kept me fuller for longer, and I think I savoured it more. I'm going try and keep that up! :)

Focus on the positives not the "negatives". You lost 5 pounds! YAY! Focus on that accomplishment rather than the unhappiness over the measurements.

I think today's society has added to the fact that we eat faster. At school, I get 25 minutes for a lunch period. I get a 30 minute "lunch" break at work or a 10 minute break depending on the hours that I work. Even when I'm not at school or work, I feel like I rush to eat because I'm used to a time constraint to eat. I like your plan of eating slower. I'm def going to try to do that too.

I understand. When I worked I only got 30-45 minutes for lunch. I have a much more relaxed schedule now that I'm only doing school. I can pretty much eat whenever, which means I can pick a time that is slow-paced for me.

I tend to eat faster at dinner time because I'm around/chatting with my family. Usually I eat breakfast/lunch alone at my house, so I have more time to savour it, it seems.

Good luck with that! Oh, and I know I shouldn't weight everyday, but I did, and I lost another 0.2 pounds. It really cheered me up!

This month in Senetenn magazine there's a great mini-fitness mag with some good exercise and dieting tips:thumbsup2

Lol, I don't follow the diet tips but the exercise workouts work really good.
I lost like 10 pounds last year by doing them everyday for 30 minutes.

Yeah, I mainly looking at laughing at the nutrition plans.. I'm thinking something like, "CARBS AFTER 5 MAKE YOU FAT!" or "IF YOU EAT THIS, YOU'LL ADD FAT INSTANTLY!!!!"

Or supporting anorexia nervosa.

Haha yeah, there was on plan for summer that totally confused me?
Like instead of eating the healthy stuff, they were saying to eat the nonhealthy foods?

YAY! :banana::banana:

As of this morning I am back to my normal weight! The last time I weighed myself was after Memorial Day weekend, and I have gained about five pounds. Then again, that weekend I ate like a pig and did nothing but lay out in the sun. So I either gained weight and lost it or it was just my body being my body and having a weight shift. Either way, I'm back to my normal weight.

Fatphil23...I got two questions...
1) What food would you recommend eating before and after working out? I never know what to eat, especially after.
2) Saturated fat? Unsaturated fat? Polyunsaturated fat? Monounsaturated fat? Trans fat? What's the "good" kinda of fat and the "bad" kinda fat? So confused!

1. Depends on what type of workout and at what time of the day.. It varies so much.
2. Any kind of unsaturated fat, especially Omega-3 & Omega-6, are the healthy kind. That's because your body can't produce them naturally, they help reduce heart disease, ect. Saturated fats can be produced by the body, so they aren't needed in anything more than small-average amounts. Trans fat is bad because the body can't do anything with it, so it's basically just stored away. Generally try to avoid foods high in saturated fat and trans fat, obviously. Nuts, avocados, fish, extra virgin olive oil, natural peanut butter, and eggs are all common food high in unsaturated fats and should typically be where the bulk of your fat intake comes from.
