Disney Weight Loss 2

1. Depends on what type of workout and at what time of the day.. It varies so much.
2. Any kind of unsaturated fat, especially Omega-3 & Omega-6, are the healthy kind. That's because your body can't produce them naturally, they help reduce heart disease, ect. Saturated fats can be produced by the body, so they aren't needed in anything more than small-average amounts. Trans fat is bad because the body can't do anything with it, so it's basically just stored away. Generally try to avoid foods high in saturated fat and trans fat, obviously. Nuts, avocados, fish, extra virgin olive oil, natural peanut butter, and eggs are all common food high in unsaturated fats and should typically be where the bulk of your fat intake comes from.

1. If I pm you would you be able or willing to give me a quick hand with it? I really only work out at two different times of the day and have two different work out schedules
2. Thanks! That clears things up a lot for me! :)

So, I went out to eat last night...bad choice. I ordered chopped steak (well I was kind of forced to order that) which had green peppers and onions. I also ate about half a baked potato with pico de gallo and some grilled veggies. Everything was VERY salty and I thought veggies were kind of oily.

I felt kind of icky this morning, so I stepped on the scale to see the damage. I've gained exactly one pound. I'm guessing this is water weight? Maybe? I haven't been drinking enough water lately and that dinner was EXTREMELY salty. I know I couldn't have actually gained an entire pound of fat, so is this water weight.

I won't let it crush my spirit though, lol.

It's water weight.. Unless you ate 3,500 calories over your maintence for the entire day, then it's impossible to add a pound of fat. Salt leads to water retention, so if everything seemed very salty, it's obviously water.

This is why you should only weigh yourself once a week, at the same time each week. Like I said earlier, I do it every Monday morning around 6 a.m. right after I use the restroom.

I know, I know. I really need to stop weighing myself everyday.

I did it for the whole 6 months I was dieting last year, BAD idea. In the first month if I got on the scale and had gained even a pound then I would starve myself that day. Then I realized how bad starving myself was so whenever I got on and gained I would just be depresses all day, but at least I would eat. The worst thing with girls is you gain 5 pounds of water weight at "your time of the month".

Now, I havent weighed myself in a year. I dont really care what I weigh, I just go by fitting into clothes. Im happy with the sizes I am now so Im not going to spoil that by weighing myself and possible weighing more then I think I do.

*Update* Ive been doing the leg and ab exercising in Seventeen and so far I dont like them. When I exercise I like to feel a burn, but none of the Seventen exercises do that. Im gonna keep trying and see if they help anways. I added some crunches to the ab routine. Ive been doing one night ab then the next night leg, and Ive just been rotating back and forth.

I know, I know. I really need to stop weighing myself everyday.

It's understandable though. It's almost addicting. I weighed myself for the first time in two weeks yesterday, and I had to shut my parent's room's door (where the scale is) to keep myself off of it. But I've decided that, like FatPhil (side note...do you have anything else you want us to call you?), I'm going to weigh myself at the same time once a week but only as a benchmark. Still deciding on when that will be still...

Anyway, other than last night how have you been doing Jenny?
I slipped last night as I was at the White Sox game with my family and ate more than I should have. Corn off the cob, split loaded nachos (chips, ground beef, sour creme, cheese, salsa, onions, lettuce, and jalapenos) with my little brother, a hot dog with kats, and some funnel cake. Oh boy did I feel sick on the way home. Bad decision. But I had a good workout this morning so I felt a little better. :)

lol, My name's actually John if you want to use that. Fatphil's just a name I came-up with in sixth grade and have always used it.

And it's alright to cheat every once in a while. Last Saturday night I had three hot dogs at the Reds game, and then went to Graeters Ice Cream and had a triple scoop of black raspberry chip ice cream [1.5g of trans fat per scoop:eek:].

Yes, it is addicting! The scale is in my bathroom, so everytime I go in there I have a huge urge to weigh myself. Now I've decided to put it in the closet until Saturday.

I've been doing okay. I think I'm really getting used to eating healthy. I hardly miss chips, fries, etc unless I'm really really hungry. My cravings haven't been too bad, unless I'm confronted with them. Like tonight at Applebee's (they have great low-cal options, btw) there was this huge picture of chocolate peanut butter pie. Oh wow. I had a hard time not staring at it and drooling. But I happily ate my salad and grilled chicken, it was delicious!

The only cheat I've really had was a few bites of mashed potatoes tonight at dinner. It satisfied my need for a 'cheat' but wasn't too bad on the calorie scale according to their nutrition pamphlet thing.

I'm still sucking at exercising. I'm making excuse after excuse not to step on the treadmill or take a stroll outside. Tomorrow is a fresh day though!

How is everyone else doing? :)

Haha. Hey John! Yeah the AIM SN I came up with in 5th grade has stuck with me to this day 7 years later...I'm kinda regretting it now but I think its funny too.

I'm amazing at making excuses to not exercise! I'm too tired, my knee hurts, I just ate, I don't want to waste gas, it's gross outside; you say it I've told it to myself. Haha but I've been pretty good about going. This morning I went a Zumba class with my best friend. I had to get up to pick her up so it was motivation because I had just started a movie on tv! So that's my tip to you, find someone to exercise with because then you are accountable to someone else too.

I've been doing well lately. I've been trying to make healthier choices for meals. I haven't been cheating bad either. I've got "healthy treats" for myself at home that I have if I feel like I need a pick me. Like a few spoons of ice cream or one Golden Oreo (biggest weakness!). And I've been making every effort to go work out. Even if it means getting up early like tomorrow...at gasp! 7 AM! :scared1: Hahah

 7 AM! Wow! I don't think I could do that at all!

So, I weighed myself this morning (yes yes, I know. -enters excuse here-) and I've lost 8.2 pounds since I started! I guess the water weight came off or something. I feel sooo much better.

I've found my favourite snack. Grapes! We rarely get good grapes down here, but I found some really yummy looking red ones at the supermarket, and decided to give them a try. They are SOSOSO delicious! Even if I had a twinkie or something, I would seriously pick these amazing grapes instead.

I also bought a little seedless watermelon. I love melon; I can't wait to try it. :)

Yah not gunna lie...the 7 AM thing didn't work haha. My alarm went off, and I hit the snooze button 5 times till 8. And I ran out of time to get to the gym, but it all ended up working out because my friends and I had a dance party in the rain. haha :thumbsup2 Guess I shouldn't stay up till 2 when I know I should get up at 7. Attempt number 2 tomorrow, but I've still got like ten million things to tonight and its already midnight. Gah!

OMG! Love grapes!!! My dad has to buy two bags of them because I eat them so much! Great little snack food or side to a lunch. Basically, I love fruit. :)

Hey Ariel, I'm glad you decided to join us!

Michelle, that sounds like me! Whenever I plan to do something early, I'm all pumped up for it until the morning actually comes, then I'm like 'screw it'. Hope it works out for you tomorrow.

So, calorie counting is going well. I don't have to plan or be as strict anymore, because I could basically eat anything in my house and stay within my limit. It's so stocked with healthy things now, lol. I had watermelon for breakfast. Ohmygoodness. It was so wonderful and tasty. I would pick fruit a million times over candy or junk. It also makes me feel better, ya know?

Nothing sounded good for lunch so I ate a Lean Cuisine. I know they're probably not the best for me, but it was pretty yummy. My (actual) weigh in day is tomorrow, so I hope the sodium doesn't affect me.

Well...lets just say same result for today as yesterday. Haha. I've got some photo stuff that has been keeping me up till like 1 or 2 in the morning because its the only time I have to work on it. Gah having projects! ;)

I'm still having to plan (kinda I make more like loose plans that normally always change) just so I can stick to something. My house, and work, has unhealthy food, but I've figured out what to eat and what not to eat. So I think I've been doing pretty well. SOOO jealous of the watermelon!!! I love watermelon but nothings been good here yet...

Oh well, you'll get there eventually. :)

So, my weigh-in day was a success! I've lost a total of 9.2 pounds since I started. :)

I've sorta got a question....

Ok (almost) every day I take a 1-hour walk and I do the Wii Fit for 30 minutes.....I'm trying to get my mom to get me a gym membership too...

how long do you think it'll take to start seeing results? I just kinda wanna know so that I can think about future referances

The biggest way to see results is to adjust the kitchen. The quotes, "Abs are made in the kitchen" and "Abs are 90% kitchen, 5% workout, 5% genetics" apply very well. Unless you're eating healthier, you'll see minimal results within a few months.

Plus, the Wii Fit isn't really that great of a workout..

If your exercising and eating good then you should start to lose weight within a week. Its healthy to lose about 1-2 pounds a week, but remember in the beginning of a diet you lose weight quickly.
