Use an ergo

Plan on going back to the hotel every afternoon for a break

You will have fun

Thank you.. I was thinking a stroller would be impossible in the crowds!

We went when my daughter was 8 months old, around the end of Oct/beginning of Nov in 2012. It was SUCH a great trip. Much easier than bringing her when she was closer to 2 and wanting to run around everywhere.

She always hated the Ergo (and any carrier like that). She did fine in her stroller or being carried onto rides. We didn't take mid-day breaks -- she slept in her stroller, and even stayed asleep in our arms if we took her out and brought her on a ride or stayed later for the fireworks.

She was really cute with Mickey (scared of meeting him the next time when she was 2 though!). She loved all the rides we were able to bring her on.

Tip: Have Dad do most of the diaper changes. Changing table in the men's room is way less crowded than in the women's room. ;)

My son was 7 months also we had both ergo and stroller. He loved the fireworks and all the lights and music, he was curious about characters but that was it not scared nor thrilled. But just try to keep to your normal schedule with naps and such that's why stroller was great so if he fell asleep and we could lay him down

We went when our daughter was 9 months and I totally agree with the Ergo (or your favorite baby carrier). We used it while in lines, and a couple of times she also fell asleep in it, which made it eaiser to take her with us on rides without disturbing her. We rented a stroller and didn't have any issues - just be sure you mark your stroller so you can find it when you are done with a ride (chances are it will get moved). Also know that you'll have to fold the stroller on any buses, but not the monorail.

My biggest tip is to be flexible. We used to do so many things on our trips, but we took it slow and followed her cues. It really helped. If we saw she was getting fiesty, one parent would go on the ride while the other played with her or took her to the baby center. We also ended up leaving the parks earlier than we planned, but we had so much fun we didn't feel like we missed out on anything.

We used the baby centers for most of our diaper changes in the MK and EPCOT (HS wasn't centrally located). It was quiet in there and I thought the changing tables were pretty nice. Definitely check it out! It's also a great place to escape the heat for a moment.

Baby centers! Great cool break from the over-stimuli (parent too ;)
I recommend a stroller - while I look forward to my first trip coming up with no stroller (yay!) I need so much gear and supplies for a little one, the stroller was just as much for "stuff" as it was for baby - and a way to get your arms and back a break when baby naps or you eat. If you use a stroller, consider a towel to dry it off after a rain or keep it shaded when baby isn't sitting (no burned buns when baby gets back in a hot stroller seat)

Be patient and flexible - if you go in planning a relaxed, "take it as it comes" trip you'll be much happier dealing with the diaper changes, rest breaks, etc. that characterize a day with baby.

White noise machine and clothespin to help keep curtains closed on your hotel windows. Bring a night light.

If flying, I like shipping myself a box of diapers, food, other consumables so I didn't have to lug it on the plane and it got used up on the trip, so nothing to bring home. If you do load up on souvenirs, you can always ship them back home in your empty box :)

Consider ear plugs - there is music and sound everywhere at Disney and some attractions/shows are downright loud.

If you don't take nap breaks at your hotel, consider sit-down lunches, long slow shows or rides (monorail, carousel of progress, people mover) for afternoon quiet times.

Read up on Child Swap /Rider Swap so the adults can ride a thrill ride or two while taking turns sitting with baby.

Have fun!!

I second the Baby Care Centers, especially if you are nursing. The MK and Epcot ones were awesome. A carrier is helpful if it's not too hot. We actually used a stroller when LO was 8 months. It is a bit of a pain as much as they require you to park it. If your LO is >6mos and on solids a bit, I brought some of the organic pouches, and a water bottle.

Ride the rides with no height requirements, especially the dark ones, b/c they are nice and cool. Don't expect to go all day without taking a break. :) Relax and enjoy. And take lots of pics!

We took our 6 month old in March. We used a carrier (couldn't even tell you the name) and our stroller. He was extremely easy going, napped in the stroller or carrier and was easier than our older children. He wasn't crawling or sitting up yet so he didn't really know what he could get into. We are going back at the beginning of September and he is crawling now and I think we may have a little more trouble with him this time because he won't want to stay in the stroller or carrier but I guess we will just see how it goes.
