Disney Vs. Tauck Bridges

These are the two quality family Italy tours we were considering. Was leaning towards Disney, as they appeared to be the better value. With the new pricing, and the age for the children discount lowered, they are now approximately the same. Does anyone have any insight into the Tauck Bridges vs. Disney Italy?

I see what you mean...and we're looking at the same trips...with our family and dates Disney comes out about $500 cheaper. And the Disney trip is a day longer! I noticed the Tauck Bridges pricing does make some differentials for number of occupants in the room, although not as much as I would have expected. Our family of five was not going to do well in that department anyhow. However, they don't distinguish between seasons which helped us when looking at Disney.

I'd be interested in seeing people's responses as well..popcorn::

I don't think you can really do a fair comparison based on value alone... I mean, can you really compare the experience of going to WDW (or any other Disney theme park) with going to some other company's theme park?? Or going on a Disney cruise compared to any other company's cruise?? I don't think so...

There are numerous other tour companies out there, from value to deluxe, but for us, there's nothing like traveling on a Disney-operated tour. We just returned from the Spirit of America tour and we had a blast! In a few weeks, we're going on the Southwest Splendors tour. Then we're planning on an Italy tour with friends that we met on the Spirit of America tour. We know there are cheaper tours out there, but nothing compares with an ABD!

I have not travelled with TAuck, but I will say that Disney does some really nice things to make it special. And the guides were just wonderful.

Disney modeled their ABD after Tauck Bridges when the plan for ABD first developed. Don't know if that helps at all

By the way, we did a Tauck tour some years ago to the same historical areas as the Spirit of America tour (we even stayed at the L'Enfant Plaza Hotel), but it just wasn't the same. I think that if you enjoy the "Disney magic", then going on an ABD would be more enjoyable than Tauck.

For us, we enjoy the Disney experience and having Disney CMs (our ABD guides) running the tour. One of them is normally based at the GF, so we had a lot in common to talk about since the GF is our favorite resort. The other is normally based at Disneyland.

And going on an ABD, as opposed to Tauck Bridges, has its benefits, like getting a lanyard with a Disney pin themed to each day's adventure. Also, when we were in Washington D.C. on August 17, our ABD guides arranged for a hotel room so that everyone could watch the Disney Channel premiere of "High School Musical 2". It was very spontaneous but they did their best to make sure that everyone had a great time. I could go on, but you get the idea... :)
