Barclay arrival plus gives 2% back when redeemed as statement credit towards travel expenses (Disney tickets qualify as well as Disney resort reservations) plus 10% back on redeemed points so essentially 2.2% back on all purchases.

We have been Disney Visa card holders since "Day 1" No annual fee was only card years ago. Fee card is a few years old now. We have enjoyed our points, special offers, savings in the parks such as % off Tours and specific meals as well as Six months to pay on packages. Other cards may offer stronger rewards but when I open my wallet and see The Disney Visa with Mickey on it, I smile! What other card can do that? As a side note, Chase, who manages the card for Disney has supplied excellent Customer Service when ever it was needed.

If you are a Costco member, the Costco American Express gives 3% back for gas purchases, and 2% for restaurants and travel... no Annual Fee - you do have to be a Costco member.

we can only afford to go every 3-4 years and think the card is worth it. any thing that I would only get 1% on goes on the Disney Visa. Mostly use it for Comcast, insurance and BJ's.
last trip I put the whole trip on the Dis Visa which was quite a bit and used the card for the down payment on my car. both of those I had the money in the bank so just paid the charges off from my "vacation" account.

Free money for Disney so what's not to like.

I had the Premiere card for a year and between the gift card for sign up and rewards I have $275 in free money, less $49 annual fee. Cancelled that and now have the regular one.

For me, the real benefit to having the Disney VISA is that it's money "ear"marked for Disney (see what I did there? ). Yes, I know that a higher percentage card would give me a higher kickback as a statement credit, but that would just become part of our "everyday" stash of money. I KNOW we wouldn't put it into a vacation account and not touch it. With my Disney VISA card, I have "free money" for that trip to Disney World every other year!

DH and I have one Disney VISA account that everything goes on, and we pay it off every month. I usually end up with $700-$900 in rewards money to offset the cost of our trip every other year. When combined with free airfare (courtesy of Southwest Rapid Rewards VISA card offers), it makes the Disney vacation affordable.

$89, waived first year- current sign up bonus is 40,000 points- which would be good for $400 in travel statement credits.

I use the Capital One card. The current version is Venture and gives 2% back on ALL purchases.

Would you recommend getting a Disney Visa to someone who won't necessarily be a 'go every year' type of visitor?

We're going in May for a 1 week trip, and after that I'm sure we'll go back, but probably not for a couple/several years.

I didn't know if the benefits of the card were worth it? Trying to be as cost conscious as possible for our trip, I saw that you can get a $100 statement credit after your first purchase, which is appealing, but again not sure if it's worth it? Any other benefits to having it?

YES! you can use for free shipping on disneystore.com and special discounts at the store. Also, you earn reward dollars to spend when you do go to disney.

Which card gives 2% back on everything and how much is the annual fee ? It looks like it might be worth looking into.

I use a Capital One Venture card. $59 annual fee, but 2% rewards on everything, and I use it for nearly everything. I haven't carried cash at all for 6 months (which has occasionally caused me problems).

I also use an American Express Blue Cash Preferred card. $75 annual fee, but 6% cash back at grocery stores and 3% cash back at gas stations and department stores. I only use it for groceries and gas - I always forget to use it at department stores. You can use it to purchase gift cards at the grocery store, saving 6%, but the 6% is limited to a maximum of $6000 in grocery store purchases every year. After that it is only 1% cash back.

And of course, a rewards card is only helpful if you pay it off every month. If you carry a balance you should try to find a card with a low interest rate.
