How do you redeem Disney rewards $$$? Can you use it to pay for your resort costs?

Check the budget board. There are a few current threads that will probably give you all the details you want. To answer your questions, you can either call or register online at Bank First to redeem your credits and yes, you can use them towards your resort costs.

I just returned form WDW stay at BCV and had redeemed $40 worth of rewards points from Visa. Be prepared, it is new to some places at WDW and the shops at Japan would not take them. didn't know anything about them. The BC resort checked on it for me and said all the resorts know about them and you can get a full list of where you can redeem them from the website. I kept them to use on our New Year' trip thinking they won't be so new then. I ordered the ones for WDW or DCL. You can also get ones for the DS.

The shops in Japan aren't operated by WDW. They are "leased space", like the Arribas Bros stores. That's why they wouldn't take them. You will likely also have a problem using them at Arribas, Lego's, and other "leased space" shops and restaurants.

I ordered mine through at www.bankone.com/disney. You have to log in and then go to Award Management. I ordered them on-line and had them in my hands four days later.

We're going to use them on our trip in 23 days.

I think I'm going have the Polynesian add it as a credit to my room, and then just charge items to my room using the Key to the World card. This seems much simpler than trying to redeem them at different stores...IMHO.
