I'm wondering how long it takes the rewards card to come in once you've put in the request for it?
When I signed up for the card, they sent me a 50$ card for signing up. Does the amount just go on that?

If I remember correctly it wasn't longer than 2-3 weeks. Then the card can be reloaded as you earn more points. But eventually that specific rewards card will expire and you have to get a new one.

They should send you a notice in the mail a few days after your application to tell you if you're approved or declined. If you're approved, they'll send you the card. Is the $50 card they sent you a gift card? I'm assuming that's the incentive gift for applying and I would be willing to bet it's just a gift card, and not your actual card. If you feel it's the card, you can always call and enter the number to find out the credit line amount.

It took ours about 10 business days. You need to have some rewards points to put on it the first time and then the reloadable "rewards redemption" card is good for like 2 years before you have to order another one. Once you get the card you can use the website to keep loading points on the card. No, it is not the same card as the gift card they give you in the beginning.

Was it an actual gift card or the rewards card. They are 2 different things. You have to request the rewards card or pick one up at WDW.

You can get the rewards card (the card that is loaded with your rewards dollars) at guest services at any of the 4 parks or DTD. I don't know about the $50, I assume that would be a separate gift card?

We currently have 2 Disney VISA accounts; each was opened with an incentive offer. After meeting the requirement for the incentive (spend $X within Y weeks) and being billed for it, our incentive was sent. It was a regular Disney gift card. SO… Opened the account and requested a payment due date of the 15th of the month. I got the card, charged the required amount; billing statement was received around the 22nd of the month and the gift card came at about the same time (in a separate, plain envelope). I paid off the bill at the end of the month, when I pay ALL my bills.

Your rewards card is different. For your first card, you need to contact Chase (you can do it online) and request a rewards card be sent, and you need to put at least $10 worth of rewards money on it. I think it takes about 7-10 days to get this card. You can load more rewards dollars on to it at at any time, but the card will expire in December of the year after you request it (so if you request a card today, it'll expire 12/15). ANy rewards on the card expire when the card does, so don't put on more than you think you'll use.

Fortunately, it's easy to add rewards to the card; just go online and request it and, voila! Rewards are on the card. Also, if you have already had one card, you can request a card AT Disney World. Sometimes I do this if it's a last-minute trip, and I'm not sure if the card sent by Chase will arrive in time. (note: I don't' know if they have changed this… it used to be a requirement that your very first card could only come directly from Chase. I've had my VISA card since Day 1.)

If you're within a few weeks of your trip, just wait and get your rewards card there. It just takes a few minutes. You show your photo ID and Visa card at any Guest Relations window (any park or two at DTD). They'll give you a rewards card that you can immediately call and have rewards transferred onto.

This is what a rewards card looks like. If the card you have has any other image, it's a gift card. If yours looks like this, you can add more rewards dollars to it online or by calling. As previously posted, though, beware of the card's expiration date.

Ok, so what I have is a gift card. I've got 54 days till we leave, so I'll order it today! Thanks for all the help!

I just got a new rewards card. It arrived about 7-10 days after I requested online. The new Visa itself arrived almost instantly. Guess they don't want to miss any charging opportunities :)

As for getting a rewards card onsite, make sure you are the Primary cardmember. Even if you have a card with your name on it, but are not the primary, they cannot give you one without talking to the primary.

I think OP is talking about a gift card which was received as an incentive for applying. The rewards card must be ordered first, and it would make sense to order it after there are reward dollars earned so that they can be spent on this card. The gift card, rewards card, and credit card itself are three separate things.

Yeah, the incentives vary by card/time of card, but for mine, I got a $200 statement credit when opening the card while purchasing tickets through Disney. I don't know if I also get rewards points that I can redeem. There is a $49 annual fee, so the $200 became $150 statement credit, but still worth it.

And we got a ton of the 5 or 10% discounts while in the parks when buying merchandise.

If you aren't going back to Disney for a while, you can get a Disney gift card using your rewards card at Disneyworld.com. The gift card never expires so you won't lose your rewards. I did this and have 2 gift cards, but you can get the gift cards reloaded at a Disney store.
