Does anyone know if you can transfer just some of your Disney Visa rewards onto a rewards card? We have about 1000 points we have been saving towards our trip this summer. I was thinking of trying to squeeze in a short trip this winter. I would like to take a couple hundred of the rewards points but leave the rest alone. Can this be done?

Yes, you can!

You can transer any amount you choose onto a Rewards card, and leave whatever you want to use later.

If you have an existing rewards card that is not expired you can do it no problem online. :thumbsup2 I just did this 2 days ago when my husband surprised me with a Christmas trip.:woohoo: I transferred the points and then immediately used the rewards card to pay the deposit on our room

If your rewards card is expired you have to order one and it will take a couple weeks to arrive

We don't currently have a rewards card. I would need to start a new one. That's great that I can transfer just some of the points. Thanks for the info! :)

I believe that the rewards card expires at the end of December in the year after you order it. So, if you order it any time in 2011 it will expire 12/31/12. If you order it any time in 2012 it will expire 12/31/13. I am waiting until January to order my card.

Also, I think the minimum amount you need in rewards to get the card is $20. I think the minimum amount you can add-on at any one time is $10.

If I am incorrect, somebody please let me know.

This is all correct and exactly what I was going to post.

I usually order the card with $20 or so. Then when I'm ready to use it, I just call and have them instantly add the amount I want onto the card.

I don't like to put all my rewards dollars onto the card until I'm sure I'm going to use them. They last for 5 years in your account, but once you transfer them to a card you must use them by the card's expiration date.

FYI -

You can also get a new rewards card at MK City Hall/Guest Services. They have blank cards right there and you can transfer whatever amount you want. Takes about 5 minutes because the CM will have you call into Chase/Rewards to activate but it beats waiting for the mail if your trip is soon.

I used my rewards card to pre-buy a photo pass, and then decided I didn't want it after I got home. They refunded the rewards card..
I want to use it at WDW, and won't be able to use it in the next year.
I called the Disney store and they suggested buying a gift card...they don't expire!
