disney visa rewards ????

We have been earning points on our Disney Visa card toward our next trip.

Can the points (or whatever it is that they're called!) be used for ANY food at the parks and the resorts? Counter service and carts included? Or only sit down restaurants?

Yep We used ours at Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station last year. Anywhere that takes credit cards.

Its like a reloadable Starbucks card. Anywhere on Disney property you can use it for food, trinkets, you name it.

One simple way to do it is to transfer your points to your room account, and then charge everything to your room card. Then there is only one transaction with the rewards card, and your room statement at checkout gives an accounting of where you spent your money. And you don't have to worry about losing the rewards card.

We have lots of sit down ADR's - 2 a day and on our last day 3.

Last trip we applied our Disney reward point to what we owed for our resort fee. We had a room only reservation so we had only prepaid the one night deposit. But I agree that it is a good idea to have the resort apply your rewards point to your room charge card then they will just deduct from that and all you have to do is sign the bill at the restaurant!

what if you run out of reward points? say you have 35 and spend 50.00 at dinner, do they also let you put a CC on the room as well to pick up where the points come end?

my reward points have been really going up since DD stared college!! I'm hoping to use them for everything on our vacation. Using the DDP. so won't need it for food (maybe a little), just souveniers & such. I'm planning on getting a card early and buying Disney Dollars for the kids Easter Baskets with it. Visa said you could have 2 cards out at a time so I'll split what's left between 2 cards so DH will carry one and I'll carry the other. Gotta love free $$!!!

I waited until the night before check out and then took my card to the desk. They applied it against the meals, etc we had been buying all week. It was really nice to see that credit the next morning on the bill.

where can I find info on the points from the disney visa. Is it 1 pt equal 1 dollar? Can't remember what the info said when I got the card

The point system is 1 pt. for every $100 spent.
My sister & I both have Disney visa cards and are racking up pts for our May trip. Except for flts. our trip is pretty much paid for. Just depends on how much shopping we do!!

I currently have a Master Card card that provides a 1% cash rebate each month. I recently picked up the Disney Visa card, specifically for the meet and greet at Epcot for my son. I haven't activated the card yet, but intend to do so soon.

My question is 'is there any reason to use the Disney card over my regular card?' It seems like the 1% is the same, with the exception that I'm getting cash back, rather than limited use 'points'. Is there a way to earn greater than 1% on certain purchases on the Disney card? If not, it seems that I should just sit on it for the meet and greet and then cancel it immediately after the trip.

I spend between $1000-$1500 a month on the card and always pay in full (so they pay ME to use it, rather than the other way around).

There are sometimes promotions where you get "bonus" points for various reasons, but in general it's a straight 1%.

I happen to like it because
(1) Unlike airline miles or hotel points, Disney Rewards is something I'm SURE I will use within a year and with no hassle.
(2) Cash is nice but it is immediately swallowed up in the family budget so you hardly even notice it. Having a free $300 or so at Disney is more visible and so psychologically more rewarding.

I would say if you don't intend to keep it and use it at least occasionally, don't get it. Credit card applications can affect your credit score so it's not a good idea to do them too often.

I too always put the rewards card on my room. I also had a CC on file on the room to pay any balance. I like to charge as much as possible to the room. That way I've got all the charges summarized in one place. So if I want to know what I paid for food a year ago I can find it all on that one room bill.

My philosphy exactly. We have a lot of points on our Disney visa right now. Since this will be our last trip to WDW for a while we are switching over to the Hilton Honors program. It gives better points per $, and Hiltons work for the kind of trips we will be taking in the next couple of years. It will be nice to have "free" hotel stays.

That should be enough time. They give you the standard 7-10 business days line, but I always get mine in about 5.
