Thinking about applying for a card...

How often can you cash in your rewards for gift cards, and how quickly do the cards get to you?

Also, if I were to use my card to pay bills (and then immediately pay off the balance, of course), would that count towards rewards, or is it only on physical purchases?

Thanks!

With the Disney rewards visa, you are rewarded with a Disney rewards card, not Disney gift cards. The Disney reward card can be spent just like a gift card at Disney World. I have also been able to take the rewards card and buy Disney gift cards at the Disney store.

The rewards card has to be physically ordered and mailed to you, but once you have that, you can transfer your rewards balance to that card online for immediate use.

Yes, you can charge all of your bills to the visa, pay off the balance quickly, and earn points for all of those charges.

You get the rewards at the end of each billing cycle, so each month.

You can call and have a redemtion card mailed to you. Once you recieve the card, you call again and have them transfter the amount of rewards you want to use.

Some ppl transfer everything they have, so ppl transfer $30.

You can also pick up a card at guest services at DTD. I've done it 4 times. It's the only way I've ever done it. You call and the rewards are transfered and can be used within minutes.

You can use the rewards for almost everything under the sun.

You can book a room with them, purchase park tickets, meals, goods, etc.

The list of things you can't use them on is a million times shorter than the list of things you CAN you use them on.

I'd have to have a good long think, I *think you can't use them on the things like hair braid/wrap stands, Sammy Duval water sports.......I'm drawing a blank here.

You most certainly can use your rewards to purchase gift cards too !

Let me make sure I'm understanding this right. I could wait until we get to WDW and visit DTD, and then I don't have to wait for the card to arrive in the mail?

Correct. Also, you can do all the ordering and transferring of dollars online. That's what we always do. Very easy.

LOVE my Disney Visa - Have had it forever. And gotten a TON of rewards $$'s back. I prefer to get my Rewards Card in the mail...Rather than have to make a special stop at WDW/DTD. That way I can call the day before we leave, add any more dollars that I have accumulated to it - and then have it in hand ready to go when we get there.

For our trip this August...I got a good room-only discount and even though we have always had free dining in August...I feel almost like I'm getting it anyway since I decided to use all our Rewards Money for our Dining. Made all our reservations as if I had the Dining Plan and figured out about how much we will spend. I think that we will spend about $800 - $850 in food on Disney property, and I will have about $700 or so in Rewards by then. The $800 was figuring WITH tips (so would have had to spend $75 give or take $20 on tips)...so I am just about spot on with what we will have on our Rewards card.

One caution...it turns out there aren't many of my monthly bills that allow me to use a CC. I have looked into a few of them with little to no luck. At least one of mine charges an extra fee to pay it with a cc.

We're flying in from Phoenix and won't get to the hotel until evening anyway on our next trip. (I hate flying west to east...so much time lost!) I figured we'd just buy one less day on the park tickets and hit DTD that evening, so stopping to get a rewards card at the beginning of our trip would fit right in.

It's not all that far away but I'll just start putting all my expenses I can on the card until then and hopefully get a few free dollars to use on a meal or something.

Anyone know what hours Guest Services is open? And what do I do when I get there, just show them my Visa and say I want to get my rewards off of it?
