Disney Visa Reward Dollars and 'Special Offer' at Disney Store

I got an email yesterday that said this:

"Dear Cardmember,

You've earned enough Disney Dream Reward Dollars® 1 to take advantage of a great savings offer just for Cardmembers, coming soon from Disney Store and DisneyStore.com.

All you need to benefit from this upcoming offer is a Disney Rewards Redemption Card. So hurry! Remember, each Disney Dream Reward Dollar is worth $1 when redeeming toward Disney products and offerings. ...."


Anyone else get this or know what the "special offer" from the Disney Store is?
Have they done this before? I'm relatively new to Disney Visa.

I got the same email. I don't think I have gotten one before, I have no idea what it is about. hopefully someone else will hve some insight.

Reward Dollars expire more quickly once they are put on a Redemption Card. I will be waiting until I am ready to use my rewards, not when someone tells me to be ready.

I was planning on getting my rewards card for my October trip so I went ahead and ordered it now just in case this was something I'd be interested in. The Rewards card will still expire on the same date so I figure why not. I'll just transfer whatever else I earn between now and October before I head out.

Last year about this time I got the same exact e-mail. It took forever (like almost a month) but I finally received my special offer. It was for 20% off.

I read somewhere on the Dis that once you transfer to your reward card, you can then buy a disney gift card, and they never expire.

I am new to Chase so I am not sure if this is true. Hopefully someone can confirm. Just fyi if you want to make sure nothing ever expires.

Yes, I just did that this past November. I transferred my rewards $$ that were due to expire later this year (2012) to a rewards card while we were in WDW in November of 2011. I didn't see anything I REALLY wanted to use them on so I decided to buy a gift card with them and save them for our next cruise. No problem buying the GC with the rewards card.
