I just recently received my Disney visa and was wanting to use it to earn dollars for vacation food and souvenirs. Reading the terms it says they can be cashed out for Walt Disney World Resort certificates. Has anyone used these to pay for meals? Are they accepted like cash? I was hoping to use such places as Boma's, O'Hana's etectera. Will this work? I am staying at the Swan so do not want them for paying for resort.

We used these certificates a few weeks ago at WDW. They are accepted almost everywhere just like cash, but you can't get change back for them. We used them to pay for portions of souvenirs and meals. For example, if something cost $28, we would pay with $20 in certificates and pay for the remaining $8 with either cash or credit. I never had them rejected anywhere during our entire saty.

Thanks for the info!! That is exactly what I needed to know! Disney visa is pretty vague on their description of the item!:earsboy:

From what I've read recently, Disney Visa has actually gone to using a reloadable giftcard for redemption. This is usable at all Disney parks/DCL and TDS - you don't have to order certs specifically for where you're going anymore. Also, they only take the total of the card, leaving the rest on it for later purchases - so you don't have to worry about spending more than $10 at a time.

There should be more information on the Disney Visa website - just go into your account, under "Manage Rewards" and read the "Guide to the Disney Rewards program" PDF.

Mur!
