Disney Visa Points

Not sure if this is the right place or not for this question. I have a little over 400 points on my card. What do I need to do in order to use these points when we check in and have them applied to my final hotel bill? Can I even do this?

Did you already get the points transferred to a rewards card (like a gift card)?

Did you book a package with Disney? If so then usually a $200 deposit is taken within the first weeks of booking and then 45 days before your arrival the final balance is supposed to be paid. If this is the case I'm not 100% sure how that works but am interested in hearing from others as well.

We just plan to use our points for souvenirs and such but we don't have any where near the amount you have

You first need to transer the points to a Disney Rewards card. It's like a gift card. You can do this online (there's a link on Chase's website) or over the phone (the number is on the back of your card, I believe). It takes about 2 weeks to receive the card in the mail. If you don't have that much time, I've heard there's a place in Downtown Disney where you can tranfer the points and they will give you the card right there.

Once you get the card, you can call Disney and they can apply the money on the card towards your reservation. Or once you are at the hotel, go to the front desk and ask them to apply the card towards any outstanding charges you have.

My final payment is dune late June and I already have the money saved up for that. We have the dining plan, so I figured anything above not covered on the plan (drinks (wine), appetizers, etc) would just be charged back to the room. Knowing I can get the gift card, and give it at check-in to put toward final outstanding room charges helps me in determining how much to transfer over. Thanks!

If you plan to get the rewards card onsite (at any guest relations building), you will need to have your Disney Visa card with you. Seems obvious, but if you weren't planning on using it you might not have it with you.

You cannot give the Disney Dream Rewards card at check-in, it is not a "credit card". You will have to give a credit card at check in, upon check out, you can pay your room charges with the Disney Dream Rewards card instead of it going on your credit card.

You can also pay on your final payment over the phone if you have the rewards card. Just give them the number like a debt card and they will apply it to your bill, then you can pay the rest any way you want.
