The Disney Visa is getting less and less advantageous. No more free movies, and now the Happiest Celebration special offers are expiring (like the meet n greet)- and they have yet to replace them with anything special. I can get 1% rewards from any number of rewards cards. I always kept my Disney Visa for the perks. I guess it is time to think about a change. :sad1:

Heh, I'm still loving my 0% interest, so I'll have mine 'til at least January next year! :) Hopefully the perks kick back in by then so there'll be another reason to keep it and not hunt around for another 0%...

I've been thinking the same thing too. I'm at a zero balance now and I hardly ever use the card. I just havent' seen many good perks lately. :sad2:

I'm hoping that they will extend the meet and greet!

You know, I was just wondering about this subject myself earlier this week, so I called Chase and asked about the 50th benefits. They told me all the 50th benefits had just been extended through 9/30/2007!!! :thumbsup2 :sunny: :thumbsup2

We are putting our DVC maint. fees on it every year and use it for car payment too. We pay off in full and like to rack up the rewards dollars. Hey, if I can get enough for a free breakfast for my family, then it's worth it to me.

Hi If you don't ming answering do you put your DVC maintainance fees on in a lump sum at beginning of year. I didn't think you could do that monthly, I have it deducted from checking now. Thanks :goodvibes Carol

AWESOME!!! Thanks - now they need to update their website!

I'm taking part in an ongoing survey for them and I have been for the last few months let them know everyones feeling in the lack of and dwindleing Perks. But nothing has really changed since Chase has taken them over thing have really gone down hill.

The 1% was no real big deal as you can get that anywhere but I really liked some of the other PERKS that went with it .I stated if things didn't change then this would not be my exclusive card in the future.

Short of the 6 months interest free trip booking, I'm not impressed at all with the WDW perks. And it certainly seems like (correct me if I'm wrong) that many of the exclusive Visa member trip discounts they offer are usually offered to the public anyway. I appreciate the $50 room credit I get if I book a cruise through them, but half the time any travel agent offers the same thing.

It sure seems, as well, that Disneyland gets better discounts then WDW.

We chose the lump sum because we can charge it. I wanted to keep my monthly payments to a minimum during the year.

:cheer2: woohoo! Thanks for letting us know! :Pinkbounc

The only perk I have ever used is the reward dollars. I have never seen anything else that I have been able, or willing, to use.

I stay with Discover, especially when they have their 5% back offers.

I pay them all off every month so I am sure I am not one of their favorite customers anyhow! :confused3 :teeth:

I miss the free movies. :( That was a great perk. I'm just bummed that I've saved so many rewards dollars in hopes of using them for DH and I to take the keys to the Kingdom tour. My TA called and you can't use Rewards Dollars to pay for the tour. Then I wanted to use it for a photopass CD. Nope, can't use them for that either.

Now what am I supposed to do? I payed everything else off already and the rewards dollars were for the extras. :confused3 I guess I have to keep saving and use them for a trip next year!! Oh darn. ;)

I've never heard before that you can't use your Reward Card dollars for the Photopass CD. That would stink. I don't get why. If you buy it at Toontown and hand them the card, what will they do? You can use it for everything else. It doesn't make sense.

I guess you could get around it by charging the CD to you room and then apply the reward card balance to your room.

Boy, do I miss the free movies too. :(

Or you can just charge them to your room and use the Rewards to pay on that.

Seems as others have stated that you could charge your Keys to the Kingdom tour, Photopass CD and everything else to your room key and then use your Visa Rewards to pay towards your room balance. Now if Keys to the Kingdom has to be paid in advance, I can see how that option wouldn't work for the tours.

phisigprincess,

I was able to use my rewards card at my local Disney store to buy disney dollars. The cashier read all of the rules and there was no exclusion. Then you could use the disney dollars to pay for what ever you want.

You can definitely use the rewards for your tour. You should call over there yourself (407-WDW-TOUR) and ask them how to do it. I'm sure they can help you.

They must not have read very carefully, because it says right on the back of my card: "The Disney Dream Reward Dollars on this card have no cash or monetary value..." I think the brochure that comes with the card also spells it out more clearly that you can't use the rewards for any kind of cash equivalent (like Disney dollars).

Then again, maybe Disney Store just doesn't really care.
