Not sure if this is the appropriate subboard to put this on but just wondering something.
I have noticed a lot of complaints about the offers disney visa gives it customers and was wondering what you all would like as offers? (keeping in mind disney supposedly reads these boards :goodvibes )
I am not thrilled with the card offers either.

So what offers would you like to see Disney visa give?

I would like a discount on tickets offered

Would it be so much to ask for a private island in the middle of 7 seas Lagoon with a tiny bungalo, where I could live for the rest of my days....and of course a Sea Raycer so I could get myself off the island each day to go park hopping..after all I am a dedicated Disney Visa Card member of about 2 months now... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Just kidding...I do agree..I know there are better deals out there as far as points/miles are concerned....I was just drawn in because I knew I was going to WDW soon and just so happened to need a credit card as well....I think they could do a little better on certain discounts as well as add some more fun extras....little freebies or promotional items...just a thought...

I've been a DV Cardholder for almost 3 years and I have yet to receive anything from the card, besides their big 1% Disney Rewards program.

In fact, last week I received a promotional card (first time) that said if we saw Meet the Robinsons, answered a few questions, we could get a FREE MTR Soundtrack. So, we saw the movie, came home and guess what? ALL the soundtracks were already given out. They didn't even have enough to cover all of their Disney card holders.

Can't use the free dining program this August, because we're going at the beginning of August.

I would like better communication from them, better offers---such as FREE dining ALL the time, no matter when you go, or significantly reduced package rates. At least give us something that would MAKE us WANT to continue to use the card.

Although we do currently have $450 in rewards dollars--after we use them this August, I'm changing to another card that has a better cashback program. What's the difference if it's Disney rewards or Cash back? No difference at all---but with cashback, I can build it up faster and spend it anywhere I want to. I am not "having" to spend it with Disney only.

Maybe they think they're giving us something when they keep changing the pictures on the cards? WHOOPIE.

They need to bring back the free movie preview showings at local theaters.

They should have a room discount for card holders like the old Disney Club cards had (similar to a AAA discount but a bit better, say 15-25% off). It was available for almost all dates in a year (not big holidays) and didn't mean waiting for something to show up during the year.

I was really hoping for a room discount for June. We are taking my parents to Disney - they haven't been since 1979. We really wanted to be able to afford to bump up from a Value to a Moderate. They would really enjoy Port Orleans. Oh well, I'm sure we will have a great time at POP!! After all it is one of our favorites.

Hey,
got an email from them this afternoon for 5X the reward dollars on gas with a minimum of $250 a month for April, May and June! At these gas prices that won't be hard!!!! Collectively we spend over $800 a month on gas!
Will be racking them up!!!!!
And a few months ago we had an offer for 3X the rewards for all gas, food and department store purchases.
I thought that was pretty darn good too!

I have gotten mail from my Disney Visa for 2, 3, 5X rewards. But I have to spend $2000-$3000 on 1 certain "kind" of item. All gas,all groceries, all gas, etc. I think that is a bit ridiculous. However, I guess they do not have to give us anything. But if they want to keep our business, they should be a little more competitive in their rewards. IMO.

Unfortunately, they don't do the same rewards things for everybody....and some people have to spend a lot more before the extra reward dollars kick in.

The last offer I had...I needed to spend over $900 at home improvement stores, etc! Unless I was in the market for new appliances....that would never happen. The more you spend on your Disney Visa each month...the more they make you spend to get the extra points.

BTW....
Has any DV cardholder even gotten a notifiction about the early booking starting TODAY? And only lasting 3 days? I haven't, and I called a few weeks ago to make sure they had my email and I go online to see my account all the time and my email is shown there as well.
By the time they tell us, the "special" benefits will be over!:hourglass

Hey,
Ahhhhhhh I see!
Well that explains all the offers lately!
Thanks for the info.

You are right, we had the old disney club cards.....I think it was $40 a year, but you saved a lot on a room for a weeks stay.... I have yet to rec. anything in the form of a discount....didnt get the 40% code, no free dining for early August people (like me!1)....We have $115 in rewards dolllars......we paid a $2,000 balance off a few months back and they still charged us $35 in interest that month. We will keep it just for trips, thats it.

I WANT A ROOM DISCOUNT FOR EARLY AUGUST.... We will prob. have to join AAA to get anything....

I would like a discount on tickets offered

In 2004 Disney Visa offered it's NEW card members a great deal. I can't remember if it was buy four get three nights free or buy five and get two nights free. I think it was three free nights.

Anyway, it was a package that included length of stay park tickets, $100 Disney dollars, two lanyards and pins, and I think a $25.00 credit at Planet Hollywood. For two adults staying 7 nights at POR it was a total of $1,194.04. I would love to see something offered like that for existing card holders. It was a great deal!

I remember there being all sorts of discounts available for card holders and also a blurb about special trip discount offers etc. That's the main reason I got the card! Since then most if not all of the park discounts have disappeared. I want either a year round package discount (15%?)or at least one or two card holder discount offers available each year.
My husband has banned me from using the card since he noticed how measley the reward dollars are...he just feels it's not worth it. I agree but I still need to charge stuff. :)

You'd do better off with a AAA Visa. When booking packages with AAA for disney you get another 2% off the price of the package when you use the AAA Diamond Advantage credit card. Plus a number of other benefits like
3% on all gas purchases.

For every 5000.00 dollars you spend you get a 50 dollar voucher to be used at any AAA Office.

Check out the AAA Visa. Its better.

I have been a Disney Visa card holder since it started. I have never gotten anything free. In fact I looked today since I knew the free DDP started today for card holders and it said no current offers. Anyone know why?

Got to chime in and say I am another very discouraged cardholder! They could really boost use of their card by just offering a program with some tangible, useful rewards. There are so many Disney obsessed folks out there (count me). I think what Disney fans want is just some kind of discount on a vacation! I'm also very disappointed that there is no communication from them on the early booking of the Free Dining offer. It isn't even an incentive because they are not communicating with the cardholders!
Boo-hiss to the Disney non-rewards program!

I am currently on the phone with Chase and asked what the current promotions were for DisneyWorld. The guy told me the free photo at Epcot, etc.. and mentioned nothing about the free dining plan promotion. I also mentioned to them that I never get emails with any special promotions (3% for gas for example) and was told that all specials go through the regular mail which sounds wrong since other people have advised receiving emails. I also mentioned to them that when I log into my account to view the "View Disney Offers", I get an error saying "Unable to Complete your Request". I am still on hold for this... how frustrating. :headache:
BTW, I was asked if I lived in Chicago and I said no,Houston. It seems that they do special point specials per city??
