Disney Visa Codes?

For those of you who have the Disney Visa...do you find that it's worth having? I am thinking of applying for it, but would really only use it for any codes that become available to Disney Visa holders.

I remember last year that Disney Visa holders were allowed to book the Free Dining package before the general public, are there many times when the Visa holders get to book first? It would be a nice peace of mind to know that those codes would be available before the public, but just wondering what you think.

Thanks
Jen

great question as i am trying to decide if it would be worth it to get one myself.

I have it but have pretty much stopped using it. I get better rewards using my Amex card and I haven't got a credit limit like I do on the Disney Visa. I haven't yet been offered any rewards packages or the like. When we go in January I am going to cash in all our rewards once and for all.

I have a Disney Visa & think it is totally worth it. There is no annual fee & so it cannot hurt to apply. I have received various offers when my statement is mailed to me. I did receive advanced notice for the Feb. package.

If you apply NOW call 1-800-215-9050 & mention code 75JK you will receive a $50.00 Disney Gift Card. :yay: You do have to use the card for just 1 purchase before receiving the $50.

I have been a "member since day 1" and feel it is worth it for me. I do use another rewards credit card for groceries, drug store purchases, and at gas stations because it gives 2% (down from 5%) but use Disney Visa for everything else including cell phone bill, cable bill, car/homeowner's insurance, and anything else I can. I pay the bill off in full each month (actually make multiple payments online throughout the month). In two weeks when DH and I will be in WDW we will have approximately $288 in reward dollars to spend (in addition to $300 in cash from another cc).

I think of it as a way to put aside extra money for trips to WDW. As a previous poster said, there is no annual fee and there is an incentive to sign up right now so I would not think it would hurt to apply for it. :)

So I was just going to ask if account info was available online & it sounds like it is...Do you know if you elect to just receive electronic copies of your statement or do they insist you receive paper copies? I just love the convenience of no bills in the mail!! Just curious.

Also, it sounds like you mostly use it for the rewards. Have you ever taken advantage of the pre-public codes? If so, how are you told that they are available to Disney Visa holders?

Thanks
Jen

Has anyone else been unable to get through on this number? I was ready to sign up but have received nothing but busy signals for the past 3 hours.

I believe I used the Visa code for my package last year and think I first heard about it on DIS!!!
I think you can elect to just receive electronic copies of your statement but am not positive. I still receive paper copies (the bill is usually totally paid off by the time that arrives!). I don't think they limit the number of payments you can make online each month but I think they have to be at least 3 days apart.
I guess you are correct :) -- I basically use the card for the rewards. For last year's trip we had just over $200 in rewards and in 2004 we had about $306.

I personally like it because of the Disney rewards as well as I take advantage of the no interest for 6 months.
