Yes, I could earn more on other cards. However, my husband and I place a premium on our
Disney vacations, and I like being able to accumulate the amount towards each trip. We ended up paying out-of-pocket a very small amount on our last trip (HH and
DCL) because of our reward dollars.
We also have a GM card, but there is a yearly limit on rewards on that. So, we use it at the start of it's year (March) and continue until we max it out, then use Disney the rest of the year (well, there are quite a few auto charges I leave on Disney all year).
We just traded in my husband's older truck for a new Chevy, and paid $5K down using our Disney card, and got $2K knocked off the price of the truck due to the GM Card. That was a great double-dip! (Well, it was great because we NEEDED a new truck - had it been that we WANTED a new truck it wouldn't really have been so great, now would it? I did not really want to put that 5K on my Disney card, but at least now I've got an extra $50 towards our vacation in Sept!)
