As if I don't already have enough credit cards, is it worth it for me to get the disney one for our upcoming trip? The free stroller rentals would be nice, but I'm not so sure it's worth a new credit card for that. How "worth it" are the other benefits?

We have a cash-back credit card that gives a really good % back, so I don't think we'll be looking to change cards any time soon.

For me it is completely worth it. It is my one and only credit card so I used it for everything. For every $100 I spend, I earn one Disney dream dollar. I usually have a nice amount of dream dollars saved up by the time I take my next Disneyland trip. I use my reward card (the card my dream dollars are transferred to) for all of my food purchases, so it helps me save money.

so you can redeem those for food in the park?

Yes, you can use the Disney dream dollars for food, merchandise, and pretty much anything Disney related. The only place that wouldn't accept my rewards card was Compass Cafe in Downtown Disney.

"Dream dollars" lol. I like that. :goodvibes

I think they are called "reward dollars" on the Disney Visa website, though. ;)

In addition to the 2 free strollers per day, I like the private character meet and greet with free photo in DCA.

Actually, the Disney Visa website calls them "Disney Dream Reward Dollars" so I guess both of you are right. I have spent the last couple of days reading every single word on the website trying to decide if it would be worth it to get one myself. I had already decided that I was going to take umbrella strollers for my kids, but now I am starting to think that the free rentals might work for us. Maybe we could actually carry our kids (by we, I mean DH) back to Hojo at night. I have almost convinced myself to do it, but I'm still not positive.

When in doubt, use both. :lmao:

I'm thinking of getting one in the near future as well. I figure if I'm getting an AP (and iffff I renew it), it would be nice to save some extra money with the Disney rewards.

Don't you still get a $25 Disney gift card for just opening an account? So between that, the free stroller rental and the character meet n greet, which also gets you a free photo, I would say it's worth it! Then when you get home and you know you wont be using it, or going back to DL for a while then close the account.

Yes!

Free stroller (2 a day) Good!
Private Meet 'n Greet Good!
Free photo from MnG Good!
Reward Dollars Good!
6 months, interest free, to pay off Disney Vacations-GOOD! :goodvibes

To me, it's all good-but then I do pay my card off every month.

For our family, yes!

My husband and I added up the discounts we recieved at the park and also the free strollers, it's so worth it to us.

Not to mention the disney reward card that we cash in for a nice meal each time we visit disneyland.

This time my mother and i are going to have an extra $50, from the reward card.

I left $125 on it for future trips.

Plus i do all my banking at chase so it works out.

Wow, so you just tranfer your Dream/Reward Dollars to your Rewards Card and then go to eat at a DL restaurant and when they hand you the bill, you just hand them the Rewards Card and they swipe that and take it off of that?
That's awesome!

Does it work at TS AND CS places, or only at TS restaurants?

TIA!:flower3:

The other thing is you do get discounts (usually 10% off a purchase of $50 or more) at most of the shops in the park and the disney store in DTD. You don't have to use your Visa to get the discount, just show it to them (so you could use the card that you get cash back on). For us we got $50 disney card for signing up, then the free stroller rental, and the discount, it was well worth it. Our other cash back card is an Amex, so now we use the Visa at places that don't take Amex and get disney dollars for those purchases.

As a proud "charter cardmember" (It says it on my card-cool), I totally endorse the Disney Visa. We used to have other cards that earned points, but we never used them or were locked into doing things we don't do. We do Disney. We get Premium APs every year and we are able to get one paid for each year. If you are on this board, then you won't regret getting a Disney Visa.

The free stroller rentals alone have saved us a fortune!

The picture freebie is nice, but we never seem to be in DCA when we need to be to get the max benefit out of this.

We also have used several times for merchandise discounts.

I've had one for years. I think the "reward dollars" aren't worth using the card for, but as it has no annual fee I use it for a purchase or two a year to keep it active.

The benefits for me are the character photo shoot, free photo and the special packages for card holders. At WDW - you often get free dining. We are getting special seatings and passes as well as a discount on our DL trip coming up in March. I think it's worth having just for that.

Will they send me my rewards or do I call and ask for them prior to our trip?
