disney visa card question

I just got an application in the mail for the Disney Visa. Once I make a purchase, it says that I can earn 150 Disney Dream Reward Points which in turn can be traded in for a $150 Disney Gift Card. I am leaving for Disney World on 4/1. If I apply on line today and make a purchase as soon as I get the card, will I have enough time for my purchase to be counted and traded in for a gift card. Can I trade it in at WDW or does it have to be beforehand. I hate to sign up for another card, if I cannot use the gift card when I am in the World. Any suggestions?

We did the same thing last year, and I am not sure you have enough time to get your gift card before your trip. We had to apply for the card, wait to get it, use it, wait for the statement to close, pay the credit card, and then we were eligible for the reward. Our reward took a while to come, I actually had to call about it, it was taking so long.
