Has anyone booked a trip with the new Disney Visa kid package that is out for kids to stay and play free? Is it worth it to get the card and do this? Do you think that codes may come out that may present better savings??

Just trying to get some info before I do or don't do something I should or shouldn't :-)

I was eyeing this up and it would have saved us some money but DS will be 10 when we go - and they know that :( Oh well - can't wait to go back. Good luck !

I booked that exact package with disney visa about one month ago and the price came in better than what AAA offered. I was even able to get the new preferred category at CBR for less than standard through AAA. We will be there for one week over Easter.

It's only worth it if you have two kids under 9. I did the math for our trip to BWI, one kid under 9, one kid over, peak season and found I was doing a few dollars better with just a AAA discount on my room! Different resorts in different seasons might make a difference but the real savings seems to be in getting those park admissions free for 2 kids (assuming 2 adults are in your traveling party).

Also, originally when this deal came out, Disney VISA card holders received $100 in disney bucks. Not sure that is still on the table.

Holding out for something better suited to my needs. :D

I forgot to mention in my post that my children are three and seven. Yes it is very much worth it if your children fall between the ages of three and nine.

We booked with a regular visa, the only difference is no "free" $100 disney dollars. We only have to pay for one child now, instead of 3. It's the only reason we're going. :)

With regards to disney dollars we will be getting two hundred total upon check-in. Break down is fifty per child and another hundred as part of our package deal. We also incorporated the prince and princess package into it.

Also, keep in mind that you get length of stay passes. If you weren't planning on being in the parks that much, it isn't worth it either.

I have one 7 year-old and a (will be) 12 year-old. The Disney VISA pacakge turned out to be about $100 more (counting the $100 Disney Dollars) than the AAA rate for 7 nights at CBR and 6-day PHP passes. We actually opted for the VISA package because we can now go to Disney Quest on our check-in day without paying extra and it allows us to visit the parks for a while on our check-out day before heading home. We didn't have this option with the 6-day PHP passes.

Doesn't it also make a difference depending on which resort you are planning to stay at and what discounts are available at your time of travel? If you are staying at a deluxe and can get more off your hotel with an AP or Code (which is what we are planning to do next year), it may not be a good value since you have to pay rack rate for the room. On the deluxe hotels that is a lot more money than a value or moderate hotel.

I booked using the Visa kids free deal. We saved about $500.00 which was worth it. We upgraded to a deluxe and still saved the bucks.
