I m so unhappy with my bank one disney visa. This card has not been worth it to me at all. Back in March i received a card for double rewards dollars on satements over $500.00 on everything . This offer was good until June and i took advantage of it by using the card to pay for my vegas trip, the new lawnmower, big stuff! I never saw my double rewards and when i called i was told to keep track of my statements. Well im am one who pays my bills and keeps my statements until i get the new one. Ok, so then a new deal starts in july and i spend-spend-spend and no bonus rewards. I call again and am told that they will show up in 8-10wks. By now i cant even remember what i bought. Well i just got my new statement and again they didnt show up. I call and was explained to that only certain stuff applies and get this certain stores! bJ's does not count even though i buy all my over the counter drugs there and groceries. Cumberland farms counts as gas so you can go ahead and buy cigars and get double reward points. This card is a joke! I have to wait over 10wks to get points and then sit hear and wonder what counted and what didnt . Why make such a program so hard for your customers to follow?!?! I think the scissors might come out tonight and this little red card is a goner!

I've had my Bank One Visa for a long time now, but only recently started using it - trying to get some points racked up for my DL trip. I just used it today in fact, to buy Lion King tickets. I sure hope they don't mess me up with my points.

Sorry you had a bad experience. It might be time for the scissors, you're right.

be careful with that..on here is says double rewards points on entertainment =movies/refreshments, vide rentals...no tickets or vacations!

I have a card and have not even worried about the double points.

That said, the double points post card did state that it was only certain types of purchases that qualified (which is why I won't ever make it LOL!) I did not find it hard to figure out I wouldn't qualify.

Yes, I agree with you. Spent 3k on Visa last month and only received the regular points, no double points because to receive double points I had to spend over $450 on restaurants purchases. No way.

By contrast, my Disciver Card just started offering 6% cash back on restaurant purchases for Sept-Oct and there is no minimum amount to spend.

I just received my Discoverd card statement and I have l.68 credit from just a few fast food purchases already over Sept l-3. Go figure.

Do you have online access for your Visa statement? You can check your points acct easily.

herc.

My double points were not restricted to special items, and were for any purchases over $350 (my all-time high until that offer). From what I've gathered from the boards, people got all different offers -- some got double points for anything over $100, $350, $500, or $1000 and some were restricted to gas and groceries while some were not. It was probably listed in the small print on the postcard you received. It did take a couple of months for my bonus points to hit my account. I find it unfair that different people are allowed different promotions, but I guess it is legal. It just reminds me of pricing scales, where a company will charge you more than someone else, because they think you earn more.

Some of my double points have showed up and some haven't yet. They ran a promotion last year sometime where if you spent a certain amount at the Disney store you would get double points. I did and the points didn't show up for two statements, but I did get them.
I didn't know that certain stores were included in the current promotion and some weren't, but I did know there were other restrictions (what you bought, what category, etc.)
The way I look at it is this. I don't use the card for anything special, just stuff we would be charging anyway. If I get extra points, great, if not, that's fine too. Then you don't get too frustrated by it!

I wouldn't mind getting online access for my account but I get a little wiggy when a site asks for my account # and my SS #. Has anyone had any problems with doing that?

Don't worry about security with the Disney Visa card on-line. Since the day I got mine, I set up the account on-line. I go in and check the account activity frequently; pay the bill on-line; check my rewards; have ordered the Rewards card on-line; downloaded additional dollars to it on-line; have never had any problems. It takes just a few minutes to set up account access. Just make sure to "log out" when you're finished. So convenient!

And I'm with the other posters who say - whatever rewards I get, that's what I get! You know you'll at least get the 1%; if I end up getting more, great!

Me too,ive been using it like crazy to build my addition on the house and remodeling the other bathroom,i spent $6000 this month alone and hardly got any points,my discover pays me more then this, plus for some reason i cant get online access with it,every other car d i have works fine but this one.
ok i got a hold of someone and got it working online.

Yes, i agree with those that said you are still gaining rewards for money you would have spent anyhow BUT i do think other programs are more clear and give you instant rewards such as airmiles. We are a disney family and thought this card would be great and offer us all these fun deals but its hasnt worked out that way. I had other credit cards in the past that had good deals that i might just go back to.
About the items it works on...i do have the postcard in front of me right now and it says that groceries are included. No where on it does it say large grocery store chains only. BJ's sells groceries, walmart sells groceries BUT these places are not stop and shop so it doesnt count. Sorry im just venting!

I think you have every right to vent! You are right - things are about as clear as mud. I sure do miss the Magic Kingdom Club & Disney Club, but this is what we've got for now. Better than nothing. :confused3

No problem with security.

I get double $$ for purchases in those categories over $2300(!). Now THAT is a joke.

But I still have almost $600 and my trip to WDW is still over 8 months away. I'm hoping to pay for most of our meals with my $.

I agree that the double-point offers are ridiculous. They are very unclear and have many restrictions -- like groceries but not groceries bought at discount stores, etc.

Even more troubling is that the interest rate is inching up each month. They increased my credit line but made no mention of the rate going up.

All in all, the Disney Card is the most "user unfriendly" card I've had to date.

I have one and have had no problem with it. I love mine. We were able to eat 4 nice dinners with our reward dollars at WDW when we were just there.

Just a friendly reminder that you should frequently change your passwords on your online accounts for safety sake.

If there was key logger spyware on your machine and got your password, they might not use the account right away and this would be an easy way to avoid possible problems.

I must say I have had Discover for over 15 years and I have always got fairly decent checks.

If you really want to beat the system and you have enough money to pay for purchases when the bill comes in this is what you should do.

Use one card that pays a dividened to pay for everything each month. Be SURE you can pay off the bill do not use it as a liscence to spend. Once you reach your max rewards with that card switch to another that gives dividends. For example, I use Citi bank driver's edge to pay for everything. By the time I go to buy a new car I have had between 1500 and 2500 in dividends dollars to apply just like cash to the payments. When I remodeled my kitchen I charged everything, paid it off with the money I had set aside and got a couple of hundred back in credit card dividends. You need to keep track of how much you are getting back and what the rebate limit is on your card so that once it stops paying, you can switch to another. It really enhances your credit too. By the way credit card people hate people like me!

I have a Disney visa and am very happy with it. We like another poster us the internet to pay the bills and monitor the rewards. This works great for me as I can pay off with the internet and keep my balance under my limit. Lots of different cards out there to choose from. I use to have a GM card, before that some other card I cant even remember. If you are not satisfied then the best thing to do is to drop the card and find someone else. I think that is the best thing that will get their attention.
