How much were the ticket increases? I didn't think they were that significant.......enough to pass on a DV discount?

I read on another thread that if you apply a discount it "changes" your reservation and therefore you have to pay the new higher ticket prices. Is that true and if so is the DV discount worth the higher ticket price.. I hate to get all excited and then end up not saving money or worse paying more TIA for your help.

If that is true, I think you would still save money. Last year the codes came out after the ticket price increase and we were able to apply the code to our existing reservation and saved $480.

ETA: Even if by some chance the cost goes up, then you just wouldn't apply the code.

I just did some math and for us the ticket increase this year would only be $55.40 (we are 4 adults this year). The numbers for last year seem to be wrong as I'm getting an increase of $167.19 (3A and 1C). I think that seems a bit high as I don't think the increase last year was that much. I may have accidentally logged the ticket prices from the prior year.

Are we just supposed to call and say "Hi I am a Disney Credit Card holder and I am calling for my discount? "

No sure how much the code will be but when calling you will need the code to give to the CM at Disney Travel. They will not know until you give them the code. Hope this help. This what I have found out many times calling for a special. MHO

I have read the same thing about the AP rates and am hoping that something better is out there for the Visa card. I will be up bright and early with you! Heres hoping for something great to be released!

I got home from vacation yesterday and had a pin code from the Disney Travel Company. It was my address but had a name on it that I'd never heard of and I knew they had never lived here because only us and the family before us at this address. Anyway, i called and got it changed to my name and applied it. It saved us $500 approx!!! 2 Adults, 1 Junior, 1 child, eight nights at Pop and base tickets for $1350!!! I'll be curious to see if the Visa code can beat that!!!

Hoping for the VISA codes tomorrow, but wondering what the availability will be. Seems that the AP codes this morning has VERY limited availability, lots of people called but no rooms for the new AP rate. Sure hope there are some rooms set aside for the VISA codes.

I am a first time AP holder and reserved my room months ago and have been waiting for the discount. It does not seem as low as I thought it was going to be. If I apply tonight for the card will I be able to get the discount right away or do I have to wait for the card. I am going either way but I would love the extra $$$ for the parks.
