Disney Visa 09/28 - 12/23 Code

just so you know my mom got a mailing from disney yesterday (not disney visa, she doesnt have one) that says "we just love happy mailings! Dont you?" And on the other side it says "wake up in the middle of the magic at a price that is sheer beauty" with a pic of sleeping beauty and the prince. The offer is for select nights 9/28/08-11/25/08, 11/29/08-12/3/08, and 12/13/08-12/23/08. Didnt the op say something about her mail having a princess on it, do you think this might be the same offer??

The OP said it came from Disney Visa. That would imply the credit card company / Chase is involved and it is a benefit of owning the card. All I am saying is if that is the case, how can they pick and choose who gets benefits.

If it came from Disney, then I would think it would (should) have nothing to do with the Disney Visa.

As I'm sure you know, Disney Visa is owned by Chase, which is in a business partnership with Disney. They are two separate companies. Chase cannot give discounts to Disney anymore than Landry's or AMC movie theaters can.

The way I read it is it is connected to the Disney Visa. Just because the words "Disney Visa" are on it, does not mean that it is directly from Chase. We get mailings with Disney Visa on it that are from Disney on a semi-regular basis, usually discounts/offers on DCL or for DL.

This is specifically what the OP said:

It came on a piece of paper, tri folded.

Snow White & Prince on the outside. It said "We just love happy endings, dont you?"

Inside it said We have special rates for Special Disney Visa Cardholders like you etc..etc...it gave special rates for some hotels and said to call for special rates on Deluxe....I called and ta da!

Additionally a PP inquired with Chase, who went back to check with Disney about a code and told them they found there was only a current code ending 9/27. They didn't even know about the current code.

My neighbor got a similar Disney code. Hers had Snow White and her prince-- I think the dates had fewer black out times though. Her offer was SSR and OKW for $189 a night.

She previously stayed at WL in 2004. Not sure if that makes a difference.. they haven't been back since that trip.

I am booked at the GF and I am not moving if I can't get a code. I have always wanted to stay there at Christmastime (but an extra discount would have been a nice bonus!! )

The only dowside was....
I was originally booked at the Poly, but had to change the the Contemp to use the Pin. It was not valid at Poly or GF. It was available at Contemp/ AKL/WL and all moderates and values.

But Chase does this all the time. Not everyone gets the earn 5X promotions. And even among those that do the threshold levels are different.

I was very surprised that Chase got involved in pin codes, but I guess I am not surprised based on my above logic. (does that even make sense??? lol) As long as it goes to the rest of the cardholders on Monday like we suspect, its all good

Although I'm not a Disney Visa member, the OP's news is great. I've heard unofficial news that the public would get a Sept. to Dec. package discount code a few days after Disney Visa members, so I'm thinking we can probably expect the code for everyone to come out in just a few days.

I'm just curious and being new at all this I was wondering something. For those of you who are planning on going at the beginning of December (same time as us), where are you planning on booking if/when you get your code? We were at the WL, but changed to CSR to save a bunch of money. We are okay staying at the CSR but i'll be happy to upgrade if I get a code. Looks like poly, GF, Contemporary, WL, BC, AKL and many more are already completely booked.

Are you guys just planning on using the code to save money where you already have reservations?

I think the way it works is that they put several rooms aside for each of the hotels for the discount packages and therefore, everyone who wants a discount must call right away when it comes out. The rooms are very limited.

And yes, I believe if you already have a package booked, you can use the code and still get discounts on the already existing package.

Again, I am looking forward to seeing what the discount is. We booked POP from 11/28-12/06 (paid in full by the way to avoid the WDW rate increases) and wouldn't mind saving a little extra $$$. Of the discount is good enough, I wouldn't even mind trying to upgrade resort, but that's not a big deal for us.

It would probably be a package discount where you would get a overall discount for a package which includes the room, tickets and if you got the dining, it would be dining plan or the deluxe dining plan. I used this exact same code 2 years ago for December and it saved me about $300. I used it on a existing reservation meaning I already booked before the discount codes were realeased.

With that said, people wonder why the "off" seasons get more crowded every year. All these discounts and free dining and such are great, but they just keep bringing more and more folks to the park. Pretty soon there will only be two seasons for Disney: Busy and Insane.

I agree with you, but the way the economy is now, we could use the discounts.

I really hope they are not only making the discounts valid for those dates. My trip is 12/6 to 14th!

We all ready had a 40% of pin early in the year we are using, We arrive one day early then the valid dates so I am still always looking for a deal.
