Well its less than 2 weeks until our trip now :yay: and I am getting more and more excited by the day! I was just wondering about the opening times for Disney Village, I can see it is supposed to be open until 12pm but do you think that will still be correct in the middle of Jan? The reason I ask is because I was thinking to save precious time in the parks I could just do all my souvenir shopping in Disney Village after dinner in the evening? Do you think this is a good idea or will I miss out on souvenirs that are only fs in the parks?

yes thats is the right time for the shops in disney village.

a lot of what the shops sell is generic but you wont find everything in the parks in the village

I'd say only about 50% of the stuff sold in the park can be found in the village.

All the generic stuff is there but most of the ride specific items can only be found in the shops next to the rides.

For example: there's lots of Pirates stuff in the shop next POTC including wooden treasure chests, limited edition models etc... I've never seen them anywhere but that shop.

Ah ok, so if we wanted to specifically get Disney Cars Stuff or Toy Story stuff we really need to be looking in the shops next to the rides?
I will also wanna get some dlp branded stuff as mementos so will prob still use disney village for that to save time.

Thank you
xx

There isn't a proper shop next to Cars but there is a lot of Cars merchandise in the shops in Studio 1.

If you want Buzz Lightyear stuff, the shop next to the Buzz Lightyear ride is great.

They will sell Cars and Toy Story items in the village but there wont be as much choice.

Excellent, Thank you. My son has christmas money to spend and at the age of 2 has told me he wants 'mcqueen mcqueen' and 'toy story' stuff! Even though he has enough of both lol!

just beware that everything overthere is overpriced especially toys that you could get at home for much less

Yes, most of the stuff sold in DLP is vastly overpriced, compared even to the Disney Stores in the UK.

I set my daughter a budget for what she can spend on souvenirs, she usually buys her plush on her first day, then waits until our last day to buy any other bits she's had her eye on during the trip ;).

If its specific toys your litte one is after, he would get much better value for money buying it here before you go (especially with all the sales being in full swing).

thank you for that advice, I can see him coming back with quite a bit of his money! But thats ok because he can then spend it in disney store over here! x

Hi Sammie, also i dont think it was meantioned but the shops in the Village and Parks do a shopping service i.e shop and have it delivered to your hotel shop so you dont have to carry around/mind bags... Just keep an eye on when they are delivered. Had a mad dash on 1st trip to get to the Village to grab a bag of shopping id bought before our taxi left for the airport on my 1st trip.
