Disney Vacay with the Love Bugs (New 6/23 update ~ Chef Mickeys)

We've never tried Garden Grill. It just seems it never works into the plans, although it was heavily considered for our New Year's trip. After reading your report I think it will get some strong consideration on our next trip! Of course, you guys and that "farmer" theme makes me giggle..... ;)

Funny that the only character you got a picture with is Pluto! I guess he is "sorta" yellow!!! :goodvibes

And that cobbler looks totally delish!!! :woohoo:

I don't do spinning rides very well, and you would think I would naturally get sick on the orange side on Mission Space, but it doesn't bother me at all. I am very good at following directions on that ride though, head back against the head rest and eyes focused on the screen. Was Brad looking around maybe? Although I'm sure it won't matter in the future because you probably couldn't talk him into again for anything!!! :rotfl:

Great update! I've never tried Garden Grill, but I love the Land pavilion and the Living with the Land ride, so I'm sure I'd love the atmosphere there. What great character interactions you had! :goodvibes I can sympathize with Brad, I did Mission: Space only once on the orange side... never again!

Agree 100 % with your GG review - we have it on the list to return next trip - DD says she prefers it over Chef Mickey's, and if going there means skipping CM, that's double the reason for a visit in my view!

I've only ridden M:S once, the green side. I wasn't real impressed. The rest of the family won't even try it. I'd like to try orange, but am a little nervous as while i love coasters and drop rides, spinning rides just do me in in my "old age"! I would hate to have the whole day ruined for a ride I didn't think much of to begin with.

You mean you don't like CM? Isn't that unamerican or undisneylike or something like that? JK

GG is the best with characters!

Does your family not like closed in rides? MS could be pretty claustrophobic if they don't. Lexi & Levi really get into doing their 'job' as commander, pilot, etc... That's what makes it fun is watching them. For me, it's just a nice break to sit down for a while.

One day when you're feeling brave, you should try the orange side at the end of the day.

Have never tried Garden Grilll...looks like you had so much fun!! Character interaction was at a high there...that's so good for the kids....oh and us too:lmao:

I can't believe has many times that you've been to WDW that you have never been to GG. You definitely need to try it sometime!

i bet you have your sunglasses on as well, so you can check out the guys in the yellow swim shorts.
;)

I do, I do! We're going next weekend to the beach & I'm hoping it will be warm enough to see some yellow trunks on the beach!

When you try GG, request the bottom level. The view is better than the top level. And, make sure you wear your overalls to match Mickey in the pictures.

Farmer girl likes the old Yeller dog.

It was soooo good. I was so full from our meal, but had to make room for it.

I have no idea if Brad was looking around, I was taking my job too serious. And, you're right, I'll never get him back on it! :goodvibes

You would love GG. It's kindof cool that you're eating the food that you see growing on the 'Living with the Land' ride.

Poor thing, I hate orange made you sick too.

I have never had a truly bad meal at Disney...but the closest we came was at Chef Mickey's, where much of the food is at the high-school cafeteria level IMHO. Not that I wouldn't go back there every again, but between the two, I'll take seeing Minnie, Donald and Goofy at the character spot, and visiting Mickey and Pluto at the Garden Grille.

DW doesn't like thrill rides at all and isn't too fond of motion simulators. DD simply doesn't like anything she hasn't already ridden before. I think she would really like M:S, at least the Green side, but she puts up such a stink over trying anything new I'm just not sure when she'll be ready to try it. I'll try again next trip, but if she doesn't want to, I simply don't care enough to go by myself.

I was just teasing you about CM. T

And, MS would be one of the last rides that I would want to do by myself too because you would be in such tight quarters with strangers.

A lovely character update, farmer Mickey is pretty cool, and those hats have definitely provided lots of fun interactions and photo's after their rocky start!

I love your top, I think I have seen the style in blue with tink and purple with minnie? it's nice and snazzy! :cool1:

Poor Brad! DBF warned me he wasnt going on mission space when I read to him from the unofficial guide about three deaths very loosely linked to that ride, but he'd forgot all about it by the time we came to ride it 6 mths latr and I happily reminded him......straight after we came off the ride!!!, although weirdly he loved it!:rotfl:

The GG characters are the best ever! Love Chip and Dale:lovestruc.

Haven't ridden Mission:Space orange side before, but am very much looking forward to riding it in 18 days! Um, hope it doesn't make me sick. If I can handle the tea-cups it should be no prob... right.:lmao:

Yay on getting your Sci-Fi ressie.:cool1: Hmm... DHS and meltdowns, why is it always that darn park that does us in!

The hats rocked today!

Thanks, I haven't see the other shirts that you described. I had a hard time deciding whether to wear regular cute clothes (like yours) on our trip or Disney attire the whole week. The Disney attire won. Brad was the only one not on board with us. :goodvibes

3 deaths!!!! Scary! I don't think I would have rode it if I had heard of that.

I had heard about a death on Space Mountain from an object falling from someone's cart & hitting someone else on the head. I have a fear of that now every time I ride it. Even though my park bag will be in the holder while riding, I always wrap the straps around my leg because I have a fear of it falling out & hitting someone on the head!

Chip & Dale are awesome and I think one of the top characters to be around.

I think you will do great! :thumbsup2 I can't believe you will be there that soon. I wish I was going!

Thanks. And, it's because they need more exciting rides in that park!

LOVE the call to the UK phone! Sooo funny. Dh thought I lost mind when I started laughing. Turned around, saw the DIS, and shook his head. :lmao: Guess I must crack up reading TRs a lot. :rotfl: That was awesome. The pic of you and Brad together in the booth was so cute, too!

The Garden Grill looks great! I've had the absolute worst time trying to catch an ADR there this year. I finally score one for this last wednesday and we cancelled to spend the whole day at DHS! :sad2: Trying again later this month. Mickey is too cute dressed like this. I loved all the Dale hat attention!

Glad you were able to get that Sci-Fi ADR! It's one of our favorites! :thumbsup2

Does DH get the Dis? Mine doesn't, but he's never read any of it either.
Have you ate at the GG before? Good luck with getting a reservation.
I was so happy about our Sci-Fi ADR. I knew my kids would think it was so cool when they walked in. :)

This past week & weekend has been yucky. Brad had the flu, Levi had a minor out-pt surgery. Once home from that, I was sick & tested positive for the flu yesterday.
You can bet that we will all get the flu shots this year!!!!!!
At least since I was trapped inside yesterday, I was able to get caught up on the Dis.

I had a couple of people to ask for the UK booth numbers:

Left booth: 407-827-9862
Center booth: 407-817-9863
Right booth: 407-827-9861

Enjoy the pranking!

:goodvibes:

Thanks. Levi had the flu twice this year & our doctor told Brad & I to get the shot. We should have listened, but we will listen from now on! :thumbsup2
