Disney Vacay with the Love Bugs (New 6/23 update ~ Chef Mickeys)

So sorry about the flu! I hope it's not your Spring Break this week.
Garden Grill looks great, I had never considered eating there but we will have to check it out next time. You got a lot of great pictures.

Hope everyone is feeling better soon! We've had some sickness going through our house as well lately...not fun!

I LOVE your update on Garden Grill.
It seems like such a fun and relaxed place to eat.... definitely on my list of places to try. The pictures of your children with Chip and Dale are beautiful as usual. They seem to be great kids!

Sorry about the flu. I usually get my shot every year but this year I did not and ended up pretty sick in the beginning of January. :sick:I will know better for next year.

Hope everyone is feeling better!

Thankfully, no, it's not our Spring Break. Ours is later because of Easter. That would stink being sick during Spring Break.

Thanks, it's a great place for the kids

Thanks. I hope it stays away from your house from now on. You can't afford to sick getting ready for baby!

Here's hoping that you all get to feeling better very soon.:littleangel:

Thanks, You're too sweet! :cutie:

Beatriz would love going to the Garden Grill.

My lesson is learned, I will have one from now on.

Thanks! We are all better today! :goodvibes

I've really enjoyed reading your TR. I hope that you and your family start feeling better really soon. It seems that the flu has been making its rounds for the last month here in GA too.

I do have a question for you when you get to feeling better. How was the bus service from CBR? We have a reservation for CBR starting on May 31st and I've read that some people had problems with the buses.

Thanks.

We woke up early this morning and ate breakfast in our room before heading to the bus stop.
I had stressed all week to everyone how important it was for us to get ready & leave early this morning because of TSM.

We made it to DHS early & we had a great spot in line waiting for it to open. The morning is going great! The plan is for Brad & Levi to take off running, grab TSM fast passes, then we would get in stand-by line for TSM.

Here is Brad & Levi waiting

WDW2010400.jpg

My view of the hat

WDW2010401.jpg

Before they let the crowds go, the CM instructs everyone to walk & not run to TSM. Everyone listened… Yeah right, it was a stampede!
Lexi & I were able to keep up with Brad & Levi. Brad is getting the fastpasses and I take Lexi & Levi to get in line. Everyone is running inside of TSM & we wait outside for Brad.
The one problem was I didn’t discuss with Brad how to meet up with me when I took Lexi & Levi. I thought common sense would have him to come look for us in the line. When the line started lining up outside the building, a couple of turns in the outside queue, we get in line to wait for Brad. I called Brad on his cellphone to see where he was and he was in the line farther back on the street.

I could see him & I motioned for him to come up with us.

He shook his head no.

What???? “Come on up here”

“No”

“Why?”

“I can’t, the CM ‘s said you’re not allowed to. Ya’ll come back here to me”

In my head I’m thinking, it’s ok for 3 of us to go get in line with him, but not ok for just Brad to get in line with us?

I was like, “No”.

Brad said for us three to go ahead and ride and he would ride by his self. The kids & I wanted us all together. Exasperated, I told Lexi & Levi for us to go get in line with Brad, so we get out of line.
Do you see where I’m going with this?
We go to where Brad is & he is not there. :sad2:
The same time we’re getting out of line, he decides to get out of line to go up where we are.
My morning plan is destroyed. At that time, the going & going & tiredness of the week hits .
We said a few words & I haven’t a clue what they were.
All I know is we both thought we each were in the right & the other one was wrong. I looked down at the line & it’s just growing down the street by the second. So we go to the end of it.
If I believed in fighting in public or fighting in front of our kids and if I had unleashed how I felt at that very moment, all of DHS would have thought a Lion had escaped AK from the roaring.
But since I don’t, I did the next thing a angry woman does – give the silent treatment. ALL through the TSM line. That made me even more miserable, but I’m still talking to the kids acting like nothing is wrong. Anyone been there?

WDW2010403.jpg

Don’t ask me how long our wait was. There was no way I was going to look at my watch. I knew that would make me more upset watching the time ticking away. By the time we reached our turn to ride, the fumes had dissipated.

WDW2010404.jpg

We had a great time on the ride & everyone got off in a great mood, the line ordeal forgotten & ready to start our day over.

Now, when I tell my non-Disney friends this story they just don’t understand how a ride could cause this much stress. Looking back & writing this it seems so stupid to get upset over a ride. But, it can, right? I mean I know I’ve read about it on other TR’s.
You don’t have this problem at MK. Don’t they know how much stress they cause with families trying to get in at least 2 rides on TSM. Can’t they just add some more great rides at DHS? :confused3

We went to ride RNRC & TOT. We have never ridden these before & we were excited (all except Lexi)!
Can you tell that we’re scared?

You guys put the 'mania' in Toy Story Mania. ;)

I can't remember giving the silent treatment, but I've sure been on the receiving end several times. That's one of Judy's favorites! :rotfl2:

I've gotta side with Brad a little bit -- I'm okay with joining my family in line if the line's outside, but once it goes in the door I'm not going to do the "excuse me, excuse me" thing to pass people. But that was just the start of your ordeal...I'm sorry to read about your miscommunication and ending up losing more time. But, that's great that the line ordeal was forgotten by the time you were done with the ride.

I can't wait to hear about ToT and RnRC.

TSMM makes everyone crazy I think. The crowd gathers over there SO quickly!! We didn't do rope drop at DHS in Sept because we had our GAD FP's. Without those, we would have never been able to ride TSMM at all.

I totally agree with you about DHS....they need more things to do!!! Madison was not a fan of VOTLM and she's not too keen on Muppets either. She doesn't ride ToT or RNRC (yet) and Star Tours (her favorite) was closed in Sept. That doesn't really leave much else for her to do.

too bad he didnt come up to you guys, but he might have thought he would get in trouble or someone would yell at him for cutting.

but im still on your side, he should have came up to you.
:sad2:

and that is a great expolsive smiley.

do they have one for the silent treatment.
:snooty::rolleyes2:ssst:

and here is one for us men while getting the silent treatment.
:drinking:

and one for after we do above smiley what we look like from our lovely wifes.

:crutches:

Ugh, TSM chaos...been there, done that. I always have DW and DD wait where the queue starts entering the building, and any line outside of the building I jump ahead. It's hard not to let the tiredness of a Disney trip lead to a blow-up every once in a while. Looks like you put it behind you quickly though...good for you guys!

It's still better than our trip with DMIL. We had a little tiff early in the trip, and she held it against me for about 4 days. Yeah - in-laws!

Looking forward to hearing your ToT & RnRC 1st time experience.

I thought the bus service at CBR was great. We stayied in the Martinque Building, section 22. It was a great location to the bus stop.
Did you request a certain section to stay in?
I only had a problem once & it was in the middle of the day. It took forever for a bus to come.
In the mornings, buses come one right after the other & you do not have to wait long.
I hope you have a great trip!

OMG I hate the TSM stampede at RD!! In November (an otherwise slow week) we got to DHS before RD, but we weren't in the very front by any means. As soon as they let people through we stayed with the crowd. By the time we got there the line was clear outside and up to One Man's Dream. :sad2: And the lines for FP were even longer. I couldn't believe it. DS11 said to me -- do we have to wait for this, we have this game for the Wii?! :rotfl: So I took him and we rode RNR two or three times and TOT once and DH & DS9 were just finishing up on TSM. I don't even know how long they waited, well over an hour anyway. The only other day we went to DHS that week we got there in the afternoon and all the FP were gone. So DS11 & I never did get to ride it that trip. :upsidedow

They really need to do something about that craziness!! :crazy2:

I can't wait to hear how you guys liked RNRC & TOT! :cool1:

TSM is always such an adventure. Sorry things didn't quite go as planned, but I'm glad you were all happy again at the end. It does seem nuts, when you get home, how silly things at Disney can make you pretty crazy. DHS really does need to add something else to try to calm down the TSM mess. :thumbsup2 I'm lucky, or not, that DH doesn't care for this one at all so we can just separate for a bit. It would be rough trying to coordinate those two lines. The FP line alone is wild!

ETA- LOVE the TOT pic!

TSMM can definitely bring out peoples' bad sides! It's ridiculous that ONE ride can make people so crazy-- I agree, I think if DHS balanced the park with more family-friendly rides, the morning crowds would be much easier to take. It'd be nice if people were more dispersed around the park-- like at MK.

And, I'm sure that you never deserved it any of those times either :littleangel:

I've gotta side with Brad a little bit

Now, repeat after me "Amy is always right, Amy is always right"

I did wait until the line wrapped around the que outside. I knew Brad wouldn't walk into a building looking for us.

But, that's great that the line ordeal was forgotten by the time you were done with the ride.

Thanks, we are good about getting over things quickly. And, who wants to stay mad at Disney anyway & not have fun???:goodvibes

It's a good thing you had the GAD FP's.
I did not even think about that until you mentioned it. With children that are too young for ToT or RNRC there is not much left to do.

too bad he didnt come up to you guys, but he might have thought he would get in trouble or someone would yell at him for cutting.

Yes, I believe that's what he thought. It's such a crazy line.

but im still on your side, he should have came up to you.
:sad2:

and that is a great expolsive smiley.

Thanks, I thought it pretty awesome. I was looking for a roaring lion but couldn't find one. :)

Bless your heart. I cannot believe your DMIL was mad for 4 days!
I'm too tight with my money to stay mad. Meaning after I spent the money to go to WDW, we are going to have fun! :goodvibes

Hi :yay:
Just found this today and got all caught up.

First of all, your family is ADORABLE!!! You are very blessed.

We live in SC too, but I'm guessing you're in the upstate since it sounds like you got a lot more snow than we got here in Charleston :thumbsup2 We only had one day of school canceled (I'm a teacher.) Gotta love that the governor approved to allow schools to forgive up to 5 missed days!:banana: No make up days!:banana:

I love all the cute little outfits you made for the kids!

Oh, and Levi liking the Beverly is a bad sign. I think it tastes like the aftertaste from beer. :rotfl2: A little foreshadowing for his college years? :rotfl2:

Looking forward to reading more. Oh....almost forgot....your TSM silent treatment was TOTALLY justified :goodvibes

iWe've never made it to RD at DHS. I've always managed to be about 10 mins late so I've never truly experienced the mad rush.

We did do the miscommunication thing with my mom though when she went to get FP and we got in line. We somehow lost her and I went to look for her but she went to the bathroom and I didn't know it. She waited 35 mins for us!
She doesn't get mad though :)

great pics!!!

Sorry for the TSM issues. The reason why they do/say that is because all these people get in line and it takes their other party members forever to get FP so it ends up holding up the line and blocking things up. It eventually ends up being a mess of people standing outside of the door while they wait for the people getting the FP. I'm actually shocked that they were enforcing that much for once!!!

At least you got to ride :)
