Disney Vacay with the Love Bugs (New 6/23 update ~ Chef Mickeys)

Great TR so far! Can't wait to hear how the rest of your week went. We were there the same week! The weather was wonderful and the crowd levels were so nice - so we're headed back to try it again this year! :cool1: Love all the shirts you made - they turned out so cute. As for the TSM silence - hey, we all need a little quiet time, right? :goodvibes

All caught up! Garden Grill looks like so much fun! It's been on my list for a while.
Boo for drama at DHS. DHS is ALWAYS my drama day. Also, parade and Wishes time at MK. Sounds like the day got better. Yay for getting your Sci-Fi ADR. Can't wait to hear what you thought about it.
So... what did you think of the Bachelor?:goodvibes

I was stressed just reading that update:lmao: Our plan is always for my BIL to take all our KTTW cards, go get FP's for TSM while the rest of us ride ToT. Then we meet back at RnRC to all ride...my BIL will NOT ride ToT so this plan works great for us:lmao:

I'm glad all was forgiven at the end of the ride...it's the magic of Disney at it's best! Great photos of the day!!

Thank you. That puts my mind at ease about the buses.

I haven't made a request for a particular section yet but I will at least a month before we go. Maybe we should request Martinque section too. I like getting recommendations from others so I appreciate your input.

We've gone to Disney World a lot over the last few years but we've only stayed at Pop, ASMu, and Coronado. We used to stay off property but it's hard to go back once you try staying at Disney. It's just too convenient.

Thank you again for taking the time to write the TR and for answering my question. I hope to finally put together my own TR very soon. We just got the Free Dining Pin offer in the mail yesterday so we may plan another trip.:yay:

Hi :yay:
Just found this today and got all caught up.

First of all, your family is ADORABLE!!! You are very blessed.

Thank you!
We live in SC too, but I'm guessing you're in the upstate since it sounds like you got a lot more snow than we got here in Charleston :thumbsup2 We only had one day of school canceled (I'm a teacher.) Gotta love that the governor approved to allow schools to forgive up to 5 missed days!:banana: No make up days!:banana:

:welcome:

Welcome neighbor, glad to have you here!!! I'm always excited to see another Carolinian!

We are in the upstate & I was glad that make-up days were pardoned. That was a lot of days to make up.

I love all the cute little outfits you made for the kids!

Oh, and Levi liking the Beverly is a bad sign. I think it tastes like the aftertaste from beer. :rotfl2: A little foreshadowing for his college years? :rotfl2:

Oh no, you're scaring me about the Beverly taste buds!

Looking forward to reading more. Oh....almost forgot....your TSM silent treatment was TOTALLY justified :goodvibes

Thanks, you're my new best friend!

iWe've never made it to RD at DHS. I've always managed to be about 10 mins late so I've never truly experienced the mad rush.

You just don't know the joy you're missing on! But, it's kindof like the day after Thanksgiving. A high to beat out everyone else!

We did do the miscommunication thing with my mom though when she went to get FP and we got in line. We somehow lost her and I went to look for her but she went to the bathroom and I didn't know it. She waited 35 mins for us!
She doesn't get mad though :)

And, I'm glad you didn't give her the silent treatment! ;)

Oh man...TSM chaos is never fun! :headache: Glad you got to ride all together though.... :thumbsup2

Thanks! It all worked out in the end with happy faces! :)

great pics!!!

Sorry for the TSM issues. The reason why they do/say that is because all these people get in line and it takes their other party members forever to get FP so it ends up holding up the line and blocking things up. It eventually ends up being a mess of people standing outside of the door while they wait for the people getting the FP. I'm actually shocked that they were enforcing that much for once!!!

At least you got to ride :)

Now that you say that, it does make a lot of sense why they do it. I was wondering because I knew at other rides it never seemed a problem. I guess because TSM creates the biggest herd of mass movement than any other ride.

That is so cool you were there the same week. Maybe you will see yourself in the background of some pictures.
The weather & crowds were great. It would be hard for me to go another week. I would love to go at Christmas to see the decorations, but think the crowds would put me in shock.
I wish I was going back soon.
Where did you stay at & where are staying at this time?

You should try Garden Grill sometime. Sci-Fi was awesome!

The Bachelor...I'm still stressed out today from it!!!
Emily was my favorite and who I pulled for the whole time.
I was on such a high when she was picked.
But, then how she acted on the aftershow totally bummed me out.
I can't tell if she really even wants to be with him or not. What do you think????

I guess we all have to have our stressful moments or days running around all day in the heat! :)

Thanks for the photo compliment!

I know I could never stay off property either after experiencing staying onsite. The buses are too much of a plus.

I wish I was going back soon :guilty:

We stayed at POR this past September and we liked it okay. This time we're going deluxe! So excited - decided on CR because of the monorail AND the walking path to MK. Can't wait! I know what you're saying about Christmas - every time they run that special on the Travel Channel with all the decorations and the castle lit up, I SO wanna be there, but then I look at the crowd pictures here on the boards and cannot bring myself to do it. :lmao: Maybe one day...for now MNSSHP will have to do (which we LOVED!).

Can't wait to read the rest!

Oh, no TSM can really make you crazy. With the feeling that you must get there early, then grab fp's (which by the way can be an experience in itself), to finally meeting up to get in line. A lot can go wrong! Glad you go past it and were able to put on a smile again!:goodvibes

Ooooh, TSM...Tears Sweat Murder??? Terrifying Stampeding Masses? Man I feel your pain in that situation and although i totally think you were right and I think one person joing their family in line is ok, I can also see how uneasy Brad would have felt if a CM had just said no cutting in! I can't disobey authority! I nearly had a heart attack when DBF tried to make me sit in a random seat in the cinema when I knew it was assigned seating!

But at least you have learnt another lesson in perfecting the perfect TSM approach, although I love it, I'm not 100% sure if its worth the total panic you feel as you watch the fastpass line at either side of you go quicker than the one your in and alsso keep an eye on the millions of people joining the main queue, stress ain't the word! :rotfl:

Looking forward to hearing how your first experiences go on RRR and ToT!:scared1:

Oh and I think I'll be joining the Disney attire club for my next trip, although will maybe have a few plainer things so I can make my (cross fingers my mum can get me it in May) Disney D&B stand out! are you fascinated with Disney Dooney or have you manage to resist?! PS love Lexi's hair on your DHS morning...

Thanks! Yes, I'm glad we ended with all smiles at the end of the TSM madness! :dance3:

You're so right about you feel when you see people flying past you in the Fastpass lines.
And, when you're the one in the fastpass line going past everyone else waiting in stand-by, you kind-of feel a little arrogant!

I can't wait to see all of your Disney attire & your Disney D&B!!!!
I have managed to resist the D&B. I'm not sure how much I would use it to purchase it. :upsidedow

Thanks for Lexi's hair compliment!

It is amazing how WDW can bring out our best, but we all have a moment where we have just had it! I'm glad that all was well by the time you left TSM. I can't wait to hear about the rest of the day.

You're right it can bring our best & sometimes our worst! :goodvibes
The rest of DHS day was great!

:shamrock:Happy ST. Patrick's Day!!!!:shamrock:

On our way to RNRC & TOT

Photo0229FourBySix.jpg

RNRC was shut-down when we went to it.

WDW2010405.jpg

We got FP’s for RNRC . I’m terrified of roller coasters & it did make me nervous wondering why the ride was not working.

We’re in stand-by line for TOT. This will be the last smile you ever see from Lexi when it comes to TOT.

WDW2010407.jpg

It scared Lexi to death & I believe she was crying on it. She said when she was raised off from her seat it scared her too much.

Levi loved it & wanted to ride again. We couldn’t talk Lexi into riding again, so Brad & Levi went back in line again.

RNRC was still not working. Sticking together & with fastpasses we rode TSM again :thumbsup2

We then went to find Lightning McQueen & Mater.

WDW2010408.jpg

Levi was six when this movie came out & was his favorite movie. He collected all the cars, played with them everyday & we had to watch the movie about every other day. I am excited about part 2 coming out.

We really were lost trying to find our way out from back here & I thought it would make a cute photo op.

WDW2010414.jpg

We found our way out & went to the Indiana Jones Stunt show.

WDW2010424.jpg

My kids had not seen any of the Indiana Jones movies before this. I ordered the complete set online about 3 weeks before our trip hoping we could see them before we went to Disney. They did not arrive at our house until after we left, so we watched the movies once we were back.

Next Update: HERE

Great update! :goodvibes Too bad RNRC wasn't running. It was having "technical difficulties" last time we were there too. :confused3 I hope you got back to it later! I'm sorry Lexi didn't like TOT. That happened to my DS9 on RNRC in November, he HATED it and then was scared of everything else the rest of the trip. :sad2:

Great pictures as usual! We love the Indy show. I'm hoping to see it this year, we missed it last year.

I am VERY glad DHS was not at the beginning of our trip. I believe Lexi would probably have been the same way & scared to ride anything else.

It's more than cute -- it's hilarious!

Nice update Amy!

Thanks! :)

Great update!

I feel for Lexi. I am not a big fan of TOT. I finally went on it for the first time a year ago. Poor dh was sitting next to me... I bit him. I was so scared. I was holding one with legs and arms and hands...and when I started to fall...I had nothing left to grab on to him with but my teeth. How totally embarrassing... so.. at least all Lexi did was cry. She is obviously braver than I am :goodvibes

Too funny about you biting your poor husband! He probably will not let you ride again even you wanted too! :)
After hearing your story, yes, I'm glad Lexi just cried. Lexi was sitting with Brad, so at least if she had bitten anyone it would have been him & not me. ;)

Poor Lexi. Chloe has a tip for her- hold on the bars on the seat, you feel safer. It's no fun to really be scared for your life and ToT has that affect on some.

Boo for RnRc being down!

The Streets of America can get confusing. The last street looks especially daunting until you see Lightning and Mater at the end of it.

Can't wait to take Noah to Cars 2. He used to watch Cars all the time as well. I have the two main songs from it "Life is a Highway" and "Real Gone" on my phone and every morning on the way to school Noah requests to hear them.

I'm glad to see we aren't the only ones who get lost in the Strets of America!!!

Loved all of the pictures!!!
