Hi all,

I've obviously looked through all FAQs that are posted for the Disney Vacation Account, but I was hoping someone could actually list out all the options there are to pay with the account.

I know that you can pay for your room reservation, tickets, and dining plan...but what else :confused3 Can Memory Maker be paid for? How about tours, or Dinner show prepayments?

Thanks for any help in advance! It would be awesome to create a confirmed list :)

I used the DVA to pay for the Wild Africa Trek tour around November. I just bought tickets with Memory Maker yesterday using DVA!! Can it be used for Magic Band charges?

I don't know that you can use it on the dinner shows, at least not online since there's no option to take a GC. But perhaps if you call they can put it through? We paid our DVC dues with it last month.

Wasn't able to get it to work for room charges.

Does anyone know if I can pay off magic band charges with my Disney Vacation Account?

No. "Magic Band" charges are actually room charges. It's charged back to your room via your band, not charged to the band. Room charges cannot be settled with the DVA. Instead, you'd need to request a gift card from your DVA and use that to pay for room charges, but I don't believe that will count towards the DVA bonus.

I've only read of one post that said they were able to pay for room charges. I did try giving the front desk my DVA number. This was last fall, and the CM tried 3 times without any luck.

Anyone know about DCL? I know the fare can be paid but can you prepay tips and add money to your onboard account for excursions and souvenirs with a DVA?

Can it be used at Disneystore.com?
Heck it's hard enough to use more than one gift card lol. No I haven't seen a way to use online there.
how do you use your DVA to prepay tips?
You call the specified number and advise you want to prepay your gratuities using your DV account. I ended up applying like $495 as it was just an easier amount and you'll get a confirmation from DCL. I also paid for our transfers from Dover to London with my DV account.

Things I successfully used DVA for: tickets, Annual Passes, Memory Maker/Photopass, MVMCP Tickets; and TTDP. For online purchases, enter your DVA account in the space for giftcards.

All of those were bought ahead of time online or on the phone, is that right? I've heard you can't use your DVA in person at the parks...

Correct. I have used it over the phone but it took forever to convince CM to enter as a gift card and I am guessing, some may refuse. Tickets were over the phone.

You can not use it in the parks themselves and Disneyland was virtually impossible to use.

so i call the same number i called to use my DVA to pay off my account? Does it matter that i booked through costco? Costco told me i prepay tips through them- but can i just call that same number as before and do it that way with my DVA?

Prepaid tips through Costco may be part of the package or promotion that you purchased through them, I wouldn't think that you would want to pay them separately with your DVA.

I never add the gratuities or anything else until I know for sure I'm taking the cruise and then I decide to add them myself. I agree as the above poster mention, just confirm yours weren't already added.

To me, I pay *everything* for the cruise using my DV account (the cruise fare, the gratuities, excursions, and a little extra) as I want to maximize my savings and it's just easier. As I recall, the only thing that Costco had to do for me was the transfers so I had to call them first - get them to call DCL to add the transfers but then to pay for them, I had to then call into the DV Account number for DCL and simply told them I was paying for those and confirmed the amount. For all others, I just called directly into the DV account number.

Hope this helps,
Heather

Do you remember who posted that they were able to do this? There must be a way. I'd love to prepay for meals and incidentals with my DVA. I am only $395 away from the next $20 bonus. Prepaying for meals for the 6 of us would definitely put us over.

Room charges through Magic bands at the parks is a no go. Right now.

I'm going to open a dvc and for the cruise trip we are planning in 2017

I've tried searching for it but haven't found it. It was sometime last fall and it was just the one post.

I haven't tried it but I wonder if it's possible to use DVA for prepaid meals like CRT or dinner shows. :confused3 I know you can't do this online, but might be possible over the phone.
