Disney Vacation Account questions

I already have a room only reservation for Dec. Can I still set up a vacation account to pay off the balance before our trip? I have only paid the deposit so far. I wanted to buy Disney gift cards at Target, then load them to the vacation account to pay our reservation and get the bonus $20 gc. It says you have to have the account for 4 months before you get the bonus $20 gift card. Our 4 months would be up the week before our trip. Is there any way they can rush the gift card or let you pick it up at your resort? Thanks!

Granted, the FAQ is very wordy, but (1) yes you can use vacation account funds for just the room, and (2) because the standard arrival time for the gift card is 4-6 weeks - and it's probably processed by a fulfillment company - no, there isn't a way to speed up. Do some research on the Disney vacation account. Stay far away from it and save the money yourself in your own account (savings or otherwise).

Just be careful and only put in what the cost of your room is ...nothing more.

Great for loading up multiple gift cards into one account.

We opened account loading up with all Disney gift cards . Yesterday we called in to pay for dining plan and culinary demonstration for our September trip . It was so easy & fast because we gave cast member the account , they can get money out right the way . We do not have to read out each gift cards like we did it before . It has saved time and confusion. Have a nice weekend.

Why do you say this? With all the savings I am getting through my giftcard deals (10-12%), I am getting much more for my money that I would holding it in my 1% savings account.

I plan on putting exactly the price of my package in and not a cent more.
