Disney Vacation Account and Multiple Gift Cards Question

Hello everyone, first time poster here, somewhat on and off lurker. I had a quick question about the Disney Vacation Account. Is it possible to buy multiple Disney gift cards (as in increments of 25-100 dollars) and use all (many) of them towards your Disney Vacation Account balance? I'm not too fond of the payment system and I'd like to just save up enough money in gift cards, make a DVA, and pay it all off using all of the purchased gift cards. That way I'll have all of my gift card balances into one balance and won't have to deal with using multiple cards via phone, etc. Thanks so much for the help

Yes! This is what we did. We had to open the account with $10 (I think) from our debit card, but then filled the DVA with $50 gift cards that we got from Target. When we were ready to make a payment, we just called the DCL line (I forget which number) and said we wanted to make a payment using our DVA. Even though we used a travel agent, we could make these payments directly since you are not supposed to share a DVA number with a third party.

I am doing exactly what you are talking about. I opened the account with $10 from my debit card and now I am adding gift cards that I bought at a discount. I should save enough to basically make my memory maker a "freebie".
