Great show! Wewere watching on 2 different TV's. My DD who is 23 just returned from her college graduation trip and I think she was more psyched than me. She kept commenting from her room about all the places she had just seen. The show made me want to go soooo badly! Think I'll plan for Dec.

We're going for the first time in October and were so excited to see this show! (Along with the Wildnerness Lodge special on the Travel Channel!) We'd planned to eat at Chef Mickey's so that was fun to see it spotlighted. My son (8) was thrilled to see the monorail in the background.

Did anybody notice the boxed "Mickaroni and Cheese" in the intro? Disney people are sooo creative with those mouse puns. It cracks me up!

It will also air again tonight (I think at midnight) for all night owls and those who can set a VCR and tape it.

It was a good show! Mickey Bars, Mickey Waffles, Mickey Pancakes... They did a good job showing little bits of a lot of stuff. :)

Did you happen to catch how many turkey legs they sell a year???

1,500,000 That works out to average over 41,000 each and every day! That is one heck of a lot of turkey.

uhhh....that's 4100 per day......

I really enjoyed the show too – WDW and food in one show, what more can you ask for!?! I also booked a trip today after seeing that last night. Regarding Flame Tree, I just want to go on record as saying that I don't care for their ribs at all. But I know everyone has different taste in ribs so I guess everyone needs to try it for themselves. Unfortunately, some of the things they showed looked a lot better than they really are IMO -- including the pizza. If they have this special secret crust and sauce, and they worked on the recipe for so long, shouldn’t it taste better?!?!?

Help.........what channel is this show on, and when is it showing next? Sounds like so much fun, my Dh will love it!

Thanks

I agree with so many of you:

I want a turkey leg too

I am making a PS at 50's Prime Time ASAP

DH said "We could renew our vows there someday" (!!!!!- COOL)

DH also said "Why didn't we eat at either of those two restaurants at AK?" Reason----our group was STARVING and we were by Kali River Rapids- we got the chicken stir-fry at Chakrandi or however it's spelled to stave off fainting spells. ;)

I'm going to make my PS's today!! California Grill is on my list!

chef mickey's can be a lot of fun! i wasn't overly impressed with the food, but the character interaction was great!

(in case you didn't see, i was there the day they were filming...i was the one goofy kissed on the hand!)

I watched the show with my three sons ages 13, 11 and 9 and they were oohing and aahing the entire time. This is our first trip and we're all so excited. Too bad hubby wasn't home. We'll definitely try the turkey legs and Chef Mickey's. I'm going to have to go on a serious diet before we go because if I don't I'll put on at least five pounds by vacation end, LOL! My youngest insisted that there's a place where he can taste test the mac 'n cheese and I kept telling him that segment was just for the show. He actually got mad . I told him he can do his own taste test by trying it a couple of restaurants we'll be going to. To say that he's excited about our trip is an understatement!:D

after watching the show, my daughter and I decide that we have to go to Chef Mickey's too.
I thought the whole show was great..I watched it two times, and cant wait to watch it again on next monday..
The turkey leg are really good, they taste like ham to me. We alway buy them. "We find that buying one and sharing, is very helpful, that way you dont have to carry it around all day.. there is a lot of meat on them.. I wish my trip was tomorrow.. but quess July isnt to far off..
can anyone tell me if you are at MGM and are going to eat breaskfast at Chef Mickey, about how long or how many mins do I need to get to
chef Mickey from MGM, would an hour be enough time?

Wasn't anyone else frightened by the source of those turkeylegs? 40 - 50 pound turkeys!!!! I hope they are farm-raised, I wouldn't want to meet one of those by accident.:p

I thoroughly enjoyed the show. :) We have a PS to eat at California Grill for the first time. I was looking forward to it, but now that I know what the restaurant and food look like, I can't wait!

Those wedding cakes were incredible ...... I loved those individual wedding cakes!
Yes! Beautiful! Any chance one of the individual cakes is available as a dessert somewhere?

That was a great show ! I taped it so I can watch it tonight with my fiance. He doesn't really share my Disney excitement ( well, he had a great time on our last trip but he doesn't understand why I'm on these boards so much ) , but I bet he'll love this. Once he sees the turkey legs and Flame Tree Barbque he'll be just as excited as I am.

I was trying to tape "Unwrapped" last night and my VCR decided to bite the dust. (It ran at 9 p.m. EDT)
I set up my second VCR to tape the show at 1 a.m. as the schedule read on the Food Network Website, and ended up with a totally different show.

I NEED to know when this episode will run again, for taping. I went BACK to the website tonight, and there is no mention of anything Disney at all.

I need SERIOUS HELP from all of the in-the-know DIS members. I was SO looking forward to this show, and I missed it all!!! DARN that TONY award show.......... :(

Flower, the show will re-air on 6-16-03 at 9:00pm and 12:00am ET.

I work for the network and TOTALLY missed the program. How did I do that? Well, I wrote down June 9th instead of the 8th. That'll teach me to pay closer attention to where I write on my calendar!!

No harm, though, I will just watch it either at work or next Monday.

I am the ice cream eater in the blue sleevless shirt!

My friend Lisa and I were in the right place at the right time and were asked to participate. It was a blast and we were so surprised to see how much of the footage they actually used. We thought sure we would end up on the cutting room floor.

jeleebeene--:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc WOW! I'd love to work for TFN!! We watch this network all the time!! Probably one of my faves next to the Travel Channel of course-- which gives me my Florida fix quite frequently!

This show was great! Did anybody catch the pastry chef who said the most expensive wedding cake he'd done was about $15,000!!!!!! My whole wedding and honeymoon didn't cost that! And we went to WDW on our honeymoon! The wedding they showed looked really cool though-- I bet it cost a small fortune. When we priced a WDW wedding, more than 6 people got very expensive very quickly. Did you notice the reception? Looked like they had at least 100 people! OUCH!!

Well, onto the food.... we are making California Grill a priority this time! Turkey legs will be probably be too if we make it over to MK this trip. Do they have turkey legs in the other parks too? The rotisserie chicken at Tusker House looked great! And I can't wait to go to the Sci-Fi Drive-In Theater! That looked like so much fun! We have done Prime Time and we enjoyed that. Actually our waitress was "Aunt Cindy"-- the redhead with glasses on the show. And the girl who had the hula hoops was the server in the next room! We saw her a lot too!

You know, after 5 trips I thought we'd started to make a dent in the restaurants-- but after second thought... we've still got a lot of catching up to do!

LJC1861..I was wondering which person was you!! I remember someone saying they were asked questions for this show but thought they would be edited out....how cool!!! I'll have to watch again. Were you with another dark haired lady eating Mickey bars toward the beginning of the show????

Watching the "Unwrapped" show with the family was an excellent appetizer! We leave in a couple of months and the anticipation has them all chomping at the bit....

The show only made it more fun! The kids freaked when I told them we had PS's for Chef Mickey's.... my husband has expressed an interest in Jiko, and we might take a trip to AK just to try Tusker House!

When they showed the Turkey Legs, all three kids moaned in unison! They say they are spending all their Disney Dollars on Turkey Legs and Frozen Cokes (for my crew, that suites for lunch!)

I soooo can't wait to go! :Pinkbounc
