so does the disney tv programing only include Disney related channels :smickey: or the NORMAL standered cable channels :happytv:

It does not have as many channels as "normal" Cable TV,but it has all the major networks, all the ESPN channels and several "normal" cable channels in addition to the WDW specific channels. There are also channels for Foreign Guests.:)

The selection of channels is very poor, in my opinion. There are the three networks, ABC Family, some local independent channels, and Disney owned channels. They used to have Lifetime and Lifetime Movie Channel, but on my last trip in August, those two disappeared after the second day. I have started traveling with some DVD's and an old laptop for those times when I want to watch something and there's nothing on.

I'm disappointed they don't offer FOX news! Would prefer to have the "Fair and Balanced" network in addition to CNN. Love to "compare" them. I'm a "FOX new junkie" and really missed Beck, Hannity, O'Reilly and Greta!:tink:

Here is a link to the channel line up for all the resorts.

However incase you happen to watch these channels Lifetime and Lifetime Movie Network are no longer offered. Also even though it's not listed, channel 41 is the Golf Channel and you need to press the numbers on the remote to watch it.

I'm with you! However, my wife was really happy disney doesn't carry foxnews. She was glad I wasn't glued to it on vacation. ;)

It was nice to see the classic cartoon loop had been added on channel 96. My kids love watching this in the lobby and were happy to be able to see the cartoons in our room.

We mostly watched the cartoons or the weather channel. "Near record highs are forecast for your area" every day.... Still had a blast, though.

If I had a choice it would only have the Disney Channel and weather channel cus I HATE watching the news while I'm on vacation. My husband has to watch it all the time. Zzz....

This is going to be a miserable week!!! I will miss The sox because theris no TBS in the rooms!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

My kid is going to freak too!! No NICK!!!!!! She thinks SpongeBob would kick Mickey's but!! LOL

i agree, fox news is the only news station i watch (in my opiniont it is the only correct news station :thumbsup2)

Have the cartoons on channel 96 been added back? When we were there this past June at CSR, channel 96 wasn't available. My boys were so disappointed they didn't have this in the room, they had gotten so used to watching it at Disneyland before they went to bed.

That should be a standard channel at all the WDW resort, however others have mentioned not seeing the channel listed and found it by pressing the numbers on the remote. I can say when my family and I stayed at the Contemporary and Polynesian we had that channel in our room.

FOX News is garbage and if you really think it's fair and balanced you're.....I won't finish that sentence. You know posting that is going to start a debate that is not allowed, so why even post it? We're all very impressed that you love Fox News. Good for you.

Not trying to start a debate; just stating MY opinion as you've stated yours. You don't need to be offensive:sad2:; just tell us you prefer CNN or MSNBC or NBC whatever....... and your opinion will be noted. Just saying I (we...as a few other posters agree with me) would prefer "disney tv programing" gave us the CHOICE. :):tink:

No, we're not going to have an argument over TV stations.

This thread is done.

A reminder to all that political comments or discussions are not permitted on the DISboards, under the terms of service:

POLITICS/RELIGION: Because of the large number of complaints of personal attacks related to these subjects and inability for many people to keep a civilized conversation when discussing these hot-button topics, politics and religion will no longer be appropriate topics on our forums. Political or religion based posts or threads will be removed, and repeated violations of this rule can result in an infraction.

Same goes for personal attacks:

NO FIGHTING/SARCASM: While we'd like to think that a Disney fan site is always lighthearted, there are times when there are disagreements. Let's face it, there are certain topics that can transform any of us into a raging "Donald Duck." When you sense this is happening, we ask that you step away from the discussion before it escalates into a fight. Just like Mom always said about fighting, we don't care who started the argument and we don't want it on the DIS. (Okay, she didn't say the part about the DIS, but you know what we mean.) No attacking others and no sarcasm please. Either will result in an infraction.
